White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting

I went White Water Rafting on the Ocoee River in Tennessee with the Marine Science Undergraduate Society on September 24-26, 1999. The Ocoee River was the one that was used for the 1996 Olympics. Through the Olympic Village the rapids were a Class 5 (the highest level). That morning it was so cold that I thought we would freeze. The water was actually still warm though and the temperature warmed up too. We couldn't have had better weather. As some of you may know, I love to sing. So while rafting I had to sing songs related to rivers. Our guide even started singing with us. We all had a great time and I can't wait to go again!

Here is our rafting group (from left to right) Sarah, our guide,Robert, Nettie,Jacob, Liz, Tally, and Eric.

We all decided to jump out and take a little swim half way through. Liz got a bloody nose though because on the way out of the raft she got hit in the face with her paddle.
We actually all made it through safely and had a lot of fun. Here are Sarah, Jacob, and Me at the end of the day.
