Quite simply Maru Web Design (or Maru Productions as it is also known as) is the web "company" I started while working on my graduate thesis while at California State University Monterey Bay. You'll notice that all the websites I (Shawn De Haven) create have the Maru mark somewhere on each page. As I improve my web design skills I hope the quality of Maru Web Design sites also improves.

 

 I like to keep sites simple and pleasing to the eye. I try to make them easy to navigate through and entertaining as well. In the future I will incorporate Cascade Style Sheets and Flash animation into my sites as I become more comfortable with the software. My web site Slapshot:Japan is simple in design because it is an information driven site. In the future I will slim down the design aspect of the site to make it faster to download and easier to navigate. Big in Japan on the other hand is slightly more design oriented and it shows.

 

 Maru is the "head of the company" so to speak. Maru is the dog of the host family that I lived with while going to college in Japan for one year. Maru enjoys playing the snow with me but hates thunder and lightning, rain, mosquitoes, and wind. Not a very tough dog I know but I like her. Below you'll find a picture of the "boss" standing next to a snowman (?).
