Few events
in
history
have
captured
the public's hearts,
minds,
and imagination quite like the RMS Titanic.
The great ship faded into the icy North Atlantic at
2:20 am on April 15, 1912 and into history forever.
Perhaps what keeps the world's attention the most is
the tragedy of the great loss of human lives that night.
The Titanic had set sail with over 2, 220 people on board.
Immigrants, millionaires, Famous people, working class families,
13 honeymooning couples beginning their new lives together,
an 8 man band, 113 Children, and women carrying unborn children.
Yet, only 705 people were saved and lived to tell about that
night.
These pages are
dedicated to the R.M.S. Titanic,
and to all of her passengers and crew aboard that fateful night.
April 14th-15th 1912 with the loss of some 1,500 lives.
May they rest in peace, and remain in our hearts forever.

""Did
you see any bodies"?
This is one of the questions asked most often of
those who took part in the
1986
expedition
Although any human remains have long since disappeared,
many poignant relics such as this pair of shoes
lying side by side where a body once laid,
are strong reminders that the Titanic wreck
is indeed a gravesite and should be left undisturbed.
Subsequent salvage attempts have altered the
wreck site irrevocably, and damaged the ships hull.
Our 1986 visit proved that images like this one
are far more compelling than the odd artifacts removed
from it's emotional and historical context."
