"Preparing Our Youth For Their Future"

Dear Scouts and Parents,
Spring is near, and we
plan to put the OUT into ScOUTing! We have four camps planned for the
spring. The Scouts have told us they want to do some back packing, so
we will be spending the next few weeks getting ready for the April
7-8 camp to Gold Creek. We have an ironclad guarantee of perfect
camping weather! Let's get everyone out because CAMPING IS
FUN!
To be fully
prepared, we will be making up tarps with reinforced grommets
on the corners and sides. The tarps are very light and versatile,
experience has shown that these provide excellent shelter, keeping
everyone dry and comfortable. Everyone carries his own, as shelters
can be erected using only one tarp or several. The cost will be $5.00
each - the Troop will subsidize the balance of the cost, about
$4.00.
May 11 -13 is a Group Camp, all sections, Beavers
through Rovers and all family members are welcome and encouraged to
attend. The camp will be at Morris Valley, the Richmond District Camp
near Harrison. This is an excellent opportunity for the whole family
to get out camping, the camp has facilities including bunks so
everyone can attend camp.
I have set up a web site for the
Troop. It is hoped that it will become a resource site that will be
interesting and fun for Scouts and Parents to visit. All forms and
handouts will be available for download. We will hand out forms only
to those without access to the internet. If you do not yet have
internet access at home, we would be happy to help you to get "on
line" to take advantage of this rich resource. Our site is still
an infant, as my learning curve levels and input from the Scouts it

Scouter Mo has been out of town recently, unfortunately
missing some meetings, he is expected to be back for the March 28
meeting and the April camp
