As you may be aware, over the last month or so, I have assumed many of the Troop Scouter duties as Mo's schedule has made him often unavailable for Scouting activities. After some discussion, we the Scouters, along with Joan Muir, the 5th Richmond Group Committee Chairperson, decided that I would take over as the Troop Scouter. Mo will of course continue to play an active role in the Troop.
Mo, Don, Terry and myself along Brenton, our Venturer/junior leader will continue to work together as a team, and to make changes as are needed to keep the Troop running smooth. Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call me.
As I mentioned in the previous letter, I have set up a web site for the Troop. It is hoped that it will become a resource site that will be interesting and fun for Scouts and Parents to visit. All forms and handouts will be available for download. We will hand out forms only to those without access to the internet. If you do not yet have internet access at home, we would be happy to help you to get "on line" to take advantage of this rich resource. Our site is still an infant, in time and input from the Scouts it will grow. Please visit at:

The site will not use last names, phone numbers or personal e-mails - Troop roster and phone list is available on a password protected page, the password will change from time to time as security measure The Troop e-mail is: 5thrichmondscouts@canada.com
Please check in to the site Monday or Tuesday to check for meeting or camp information. I would also ask everyone to check the Troop roster to ensure that your information is correct. Those with e-mail please sent any corrections as well as missing information by e-mail. We need parent names (any extra phone numbers etc.) and parent e-mail as well as youth.
