What a super-productive day I've had! A couple days ago I got a bit of a sunburn while I was laying outside. Not anything too bad, but still a burn. Sunburns generally give me headaches, for some stupid reason. Maybe it's a coincidence, but every time I get sunburned and start to feel it, a headache starts to kick in at the same time! So all day yesterday I was pretty all-around blaaaaaaaahhhh. I think that somewhere deep inside figured there had to be some sort of counterbalance to that, so today I was doin' all sorts of stuff! First, paid some bills. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but paying bills is such a depressing energy-sapper most of the time that I started with that today just to make sure I'd have enough in me to do it! Next I started scanning in that last set of 100 pictures I've been talking about for a couple days. While doing that, I started playing around with the formats for the other two sites and got the whole thing set up for the 93rd at play site. Like EVERYthing. Now it's just a big long game of fill in the blanks! While doing both of those, I did some cleaning and started getting in some of the apartment stuff I ordered off the internet! One set of glasses I ordered didn't come in, but in its place was a friendly note saying "we're sorry, we're out, we can't backorder them, try some other time." Excuse me?? I don't THINK so!!!!!!! Way too much energy in me so I fired off a nasty letter telling them they need to start backing up their pricing and advertising with product when someone goes to buy it! Take that, evil corporate website scumbags!! Anyhow, then it's off to work I went! When I got in, I looked at the excess hours for the last couple days and they were above and beyond (bad) our newest low benchmark so I made it my mission to cut as many hours as I possibly could (good)! I sliced, I diced, I chopped, I pureed, I all around kicked some ass, but prolly not enough of it to make a big dent. Too many times people were just standing around tonight ;) I don't know if any of you out there work for a company that's well known, popular, respected and therefore has become a huge part of the community it's in or not, but I do. Tonight provided yet another example of just how people can take what a company can do for you TOO much for granted. A bank in the area had a major problem with its server tonight, so none of its debit cards would work. 98% of the people, after you explain that it's the bank's fault, there's nothing wrong with your card or your account ma'am, will roll their eyes and say "God, I hate my bank!" or "It figures!" There is, however, still that 2% of the population out there who decided tonight that it was my store's fault, and, following the line all the way down to the least common denominator, my fault, as I was apparantly holding out some magical way of making their credit card work this evening. An even better example though, was the night a woman literally yelled (raised her voice in an upset manner) at _me_ because the stoplight out in the street wasn't working and all I could do was call 911 to let someone know about it. I think she was expecting me to break out a stepladder and get my ass up there to fix it! Anyhow, I think I'm done being productive, neither my mind nor my body can take much of this anymore today!! |
