You know, today was such a beautiful day. I finally slept in for the first time since the trip (until about 11, didn't have to work until 4), walked in the bright sunshine the four miles to work, saw the temperature was at 60 when I passed by the bank.....
And then I walked into work. "We've been getting killed in here all day, I'm going home, have fun tonight!" Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat. Got yelled at by my boss for a minor thing that I didn't even have anything to do with, I just happened to be the person running the show when she realized it. Boy what I would have given to be able to hand the phone off to the person who created the mess I had to fix. Plus the top 20-25 people in the whole corporation I work for were wandering about the store today. I don't want to go into a lot of detail, maybe I will someday, but for a regional chain, we get a lot of national attention, at least from similar businesses. There are places all over the country (and some from other countries) that come in to my store just to see how we do things so that they can try to copy it. Why my store? Because we are the jewel of the chain. The biggest and best and most profitable and biggest sales. Christmas eve (a 16 hour day, one of two days (new years eve is the other) that we close) we did 800,000 in sales. In one grocery store. Not one chain, not one area, just one store. That's why everyone was there today! Just the thing to keep my boss freaking out on me the whole time she was there.
I know this entry isn't making a whole ton of sense, it was a rough night, and I'm having some trouble being a duck. I'm a little stressed out so I'm gonna have a beer or two and watch one of the 4 new DVDs I got tonight!
