Okay, I think the whole concept of NASA TV is _very_ cool. That said, the reality of it is often rather pointless. It's great to see what's going on on the International Space Station (another one of those amazing concepts that, as a kid, you NEVER thought would ever happen, just like the turn of the century), to see shuttle launches and updates on their missions, etc. However, most of the time I tune in, this is not what I see. Maybe I just check in at the wrong time, but, for example, today I watched about 15 seconds of what looked like a light switch followed by a bunch of guys on the other side of a large room doing something, followed by a large balloon that hung off of some frame for about 10 seconds until it exploded. Often there is footage of Mission Control. Also cool....to a degree. The degree ends when you've been watching nothing but mission control from a back-corner-of-the-room camera, and noone is doing anything. During this video file 'show' that's on right now, everything is preceded by a countdown, a lot of it is just pictures or animations that last maybe 5 seconds. The countdown is 10.

Another sunny day here, more snow disappearing from the ground. The sidewalks are just about clear now, though it should take a couple more days to melt through the rest. And then I think we all know what time it is.....time to break out the bats and gloves, baby!!

More movies going out today at work, I think, time to expand the library some more!
