File this one under the 'it figures' label....my best friend from back home is going to be in the city this weekend, Friday night and all day/night Saturday. I have to work until 10 on Friday night, and until 12:30am on Saturday. Greeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. AND THEN I get an email from those friends of mine who I've talked about who never want to do anything anymore because we've all gotten old and have other things to do besides go out all the time. Everyone's getting together Saturday night. Yes, the very same Saturday night that I work until 12:30am. Whee!

Well, I've had two whole days off in a row. Nothing but lots and lots of NOTHING! The sun finally has made another appearance today and that over-a-foot of snow that we got is fast disappearing (although there's supposedly another storm coming this weekend). I gotta tell you, this storm was pretty disappointing. For those of you unfamiliar with Western New York weather, it's pretty cold and there's a fair amount of snow on the ground all winter, maybe one big storm a year or so....until March, when, just when everyone is prepared for spring, shorts get busted out, jackets aren't being worn anymore, we get ROCKED by something huge. The best one I missed most of when I went south for spring training the year I played baseball, but there was literally 5 feet or more of snow on the ground. Obviously, it's not normally that bad, but we do get beat up once a March. If this is all there is this year though, it's gotta be the wussiest March I've seen in a long time. Very disappointing. I can't find my roommate's digital camera, so I think maybe I was right in thinking that it got broken somehow, or else I'd post some pictures.

I FINALLY did my taxes today online. I thought I could do it in late January when I got my w-2 from my current job, and I could just figure out what all the amounts were from my previous one. No such luck. I sold some stock from my old company during the year, so I had to wait for the statement from them since I had no idea what I was doing. Never had to do anything more than the EZ forms before, so this was a bit of an experience. HR Block was fairly easy to use, but a bit overlong and annoying, and not very smart on it's own, just my personal opinion for anyone, looking for it or no! Anyhow, I'm getting back less than half of what I got last year. Why? Because I did my forms for my current job too quickly and didn't have them take out enough! DOH! I figured that out a couple months ago and was pretty upset. "I've been screwed!" I screamed at my roommate. He thereupon decided to tell me how I wasn't really screwed, I got all the money since I got a little extra in each paycheck than I otherwise would have, so I still saw all the money. I thereupon proceded to ignore him! I was screwed!! Funny how we look at tax time as free money, ain't it?
