I've no excuse for not posting yesterday. I've just been a bum. But hey, at least I've been an old-school bum!

I found a lot of old music I haven't listened to in a long time last night. Isn't funny how music can affect a person? The Top Gun soundtrack is one of those albums that, almost the whole way through will get me all pumped up to go do.....whatever. Last night I was listening to it, and the songs aren't that great, but _I_ think they are! I'm running around the apartment dancing, swinging my wood bat (baseball, you pervs), then FINALLY decided to go start running. Now I'm thinking I should've picked today to start just 'cause it's such a beautiful day! Oh well. By the way, if it sounds like I'm not going today, then it sounds right, I'm hurting just a wee bit, hehe.

I have a tough decision to make for the summer now. Do I pay $200 to play baseball in a NABA league again this summer, or do I play intramural softball for the company I work for? The reason it's a tough decision is because I *know* that my boss won't let me take that much time off every week just to go play, especially when we get around to 6-day weeks. So here's the pros and cons...

Baseball. Well, hello! It's baseball! I love going to the batting cages and working on my swing, I love taking grounders, I love putting on a uniform, facing live pitching and just playing the game! Field of Dreams has it just right every time Joe Jackson talks about what it was like to play the game. On the other hand, I suck. I played last year for the first time in 8 years, and I hit .067 in the regular season, and I made a LOT of errors in the field. Part of it, of course was because I haven't played in so long. I got better as the season went along (cut my strikeout/AB ratio in a HUGE way as I worked my swing out more and more, hit .400 in the playoffs with the only RBI of one game, and a key, rally-sustaining hit in another), so I can see improvement right from the start this year.

Softball. Well, it's with a lot of people I know (not that I didn't know a lot of the people I played baseball with, but I work with these people and see them a lot more), and I can be a monster in softball. It's a lot less pressure, a much more relaxed environment, and it only costs $20. On the other hand here, though, it ain't baseball. When I go into a softball game, I tend to get an arrogance because "I play baseball" and then proceed to screw up! Ha! There's no opportunity to work on your swing at all, especially timing, but there's always batting cages, right?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, what to do, what to do. I suppose for now I'm just gonna go watch more Rocky movies (more old school laziness - TNT has I-IV on this morning (anything past that, I ain't watching, cause it sucks (probably shouldn't have watched beyond II then, huh?))).
