Okay, so now you all get to share in my pissed off mood tonight. Why pissed off you may ask? Bad day at work? Nope! Get some bad news, bad mail, bad phone call? Nope, actually good mail, no news, one phone call. Then why-oh-why would you be so pissed off?
I got home from work tonight and took a little gaze at email to discover that *gasp* I had 11 new mails in my bulk mail folder and 7 in my regular inbox! You all love me! It's been under a week and 50 people are apparantly already reading this! I assume this, of course, because I used to only get two things that came to my bulk mail folder, and those come so rarely that both at the same time would cause the folder to have a heart attack from the strain of holding them. However, since publishing this site with the guestbook, I get an email notifying me that someone has signed the book in my bulk mail folder. So either 11 people have signed my guestbook (yay!) or one jerk who probably knows me signed it 11 times. Either way, cool beans (except I might have to kick someone's ass, but still, I can take a joke).
No. To all of the above. They are ALL (all 11 in the bulk mail, and 4 of the however many (6 or 7?) in the inbox) related to something called "crushlink". If you see one of these mails come to you, I would advise immediately using the little offer in small print at the bottom of the mail to block your email address! What this site is, apparantly, is some little jackass' way of gathering email addresses for advertisers. "oh, isn't this cute, someone has a crush on me! Who-oh-who could it be? Let me put in all the potential email addresses so that it can send a mail to them everytime I put a name in!" And I mean every time. Apparantly every time you add someone else's name, another mail gets sent to everyone previous. Ten of the fifteen related mails were directly from this crushlink. The other five were from people shilling their wares at me. Not so odd, you might think, but I've taken especial care with this specific email address not to expose it to advertisers and nip any such things before the bud even starts!
