Escanaba in Da Moonlight
It sounds like a strange theater show
But in reality it's not!
It's a comical portrayal
Of Michigan humor:
Deer camp, bucks as big as Buicks!
Aliens, bears . . . alien bears. . .
Anyway, it's set in Escanaba, Michigan
(Dat's just nort of da bridge,
Fer dose of you dat don't know nuttin!)
And the shame of a buckless yooper!
He's never shot a buck
Even though he's "forty - tree"
(Which is ok if yer just a fudge sucker bobbin along da bridge)
But he can't fit in if he can't shoot well
And as great uncle Alfons says:
"All good tings come to dose who shoot straight!"
Which is just why da buckless yooper
Holds a genuine Ojibwa hunting ritual
And it goes sometin like dis!
KEKAUUUAAAAA Ke - TAH!
KEKAUUUAAAAA Ke - TAH!
Ooh! Keetchey manee too,
Anadamo, anadamo, nadamoshen wagenlagengey
Asawe washkeh! Awashkey! Washkey!
MEGWETCH! Aho!
(Yer supposed to say it!)
So . . .
If ya want to have a real good time
Just head on up to Escanaba, Michigan
(Dat's just nort of da bridge
