Genuine Bipartianship at Work

For those who doubt that the legislature speaks with but one voice, all you have to do is analysis the vote on the bankruptcy bill. When was the last time you heard of a bill with such sweeping consequences pass, in the dead of night, with the support from both parties, of all political persuasions? Well, the true colors of the clan in command is for all to behold. The speed of such agreement is remarkable. Democracy in action, the old fashion way. Ready for W to sign by next week. Now aren't you government proponents happy with such swift action?

For those who are old enough to remember the way banking was conducted in this country thirty years ago, you will recall that there was such a thing as a personal loan. You had a personal banker that knew you, your circumstances and was often willing to extend a useful loan. Today, you have credit card advances at rates of interest that formally would bring a jail sentence for usury. Ah, but times have changed and we all are much more wealthy! Sure . . . Speculation is the game, while business investment has been reduced to but a shell of what it once was. And you wonder why the Corporations dominate the economy and those with golden parachutes call the shots? Small business has become the orphan child of commerce. Banks have all merged into faceless voices on automative phone systems. Surely, we need to protect the financial interests of these bastions of customer service?

The ruling class, with this example, has closed ranks with obvious adverse results to the public and society. I have borrowed millions during my lifetime. During the years of active business, the handwriting was on the wall for years. The tax bill of 1986 killed independent business and real estate in the US, as we all knew it. Over these years, the political parties agreed on more and more policies that benefit the consolidation of economy concentration in the hands of corporate boards and government regulators. Politicians regularly sold their votes for more contributions. Lobbyists write the legislation for most bills and the public is seldom heard, in the raw occasion of public hearings. So when the alternatives for the public become few, the desperate resort to the gamble in the financial markets.

If only there was a REAL market. Sadly, the manipulation of the past decade has sucked most into thinking they were making investments. And what do the politicians do? Pass the legislation that creates the 'new debtor plantation'. Let's hear the arguments of the DemoRATS that claim to carry the banner of the little guy? So you think you will get campaign finance reform from this crew? I think not. And they quarrel over returning your own money back to you in a tax cut? Unthinkable, for such protectors of the free enterprise system. But what is most revealing is that this uniformity for thievery goes unchallenged in the public debate. It's one thing not to expect much from your politicians. But one must begin to wonder what is next, when those in control are so embolden that they push this draconian measure on the most exploited, and attempt to sell it as a reform for the abuses of the borrowers. The designers of this system of avarice are the same people who were driven out of the temple. Funny that they all have returned, under the standard of cooperation and bipartianship progress. And some of you still think the government protects your interests? You must be the ones who still owe money, and are afraid that the loan may be called in.

Market Crash and Reparations!

What do they have in common? The 'Herd Mentality' is the thread that runs under the surface of both. The Reality of the lost of value in the indexes that form the backbone on world markets is clear to even the most causal spectator. But the discussion that David Horowitz has attempted to bring center stage may escape the unobservant. The notion that Reparations are required to serve justice, is as absurd as the peak PE ratios of all the dot com IPO's. In both cases, the public just accepts the suppositions of their spinsters. Where is the debate and a reliance upon facts and foresight?

When the notion that wealth can be manufactured from an alchemy formula and not earned, you beg a calamity. And when you dismiss and refuse to hear criticism of inane and destructive demands and viscously attack the messenger, you destroy all semblance of Free and Fair Speech. Both defy common sense and prudence. For the greedy Yuppie that seeks only the good times, every issue is an opportunity. For the 'True Believers' in a free lunch, there is no contradiction in extortion policies. Both are consumed with their own selves and perceived interests. While neither understand that they have become the mark for the hucksters of delusions and social decay.

The mob mentality is powerful, whether in a market panic or in a street riot. The motion of stock markets or social movements are often illogical, but are routinely intense in their volatility. Balance is always the first causality and the true victim in this equation. When charlatans of hype are rewarded for their scams, you breed the desire to feed at the trough of false dreams. When the pervaders of envy and jealousy, claim they are seekers of justice, they really are dispensers of hate and true intolerance. In both cases, you have a choice. Resist the touting of joining the parade of the new paradyne of specious business plans and crazy concepts. And reject the impostors that peddle flaming anger and avarice. Those who are riddled with mistaken guilt and false hopes, reflect upon your misguided values.

Accuracy in Disclosure and Free Speech require honesty if they are to be achieved. When you deny reality, all the facts in the world, won't help you. A bubble is inflated when one continues to exhale and refuses to take in new air and breathe normally. Censorship originates when one closes their minds to subjects and positions that are different from your own. And when the mob takes root, you have the worst example of the 'Herd Mentality' at work. Markets will rebound; but will civil discourse and peaceful assembly? The 'PC' on the campus is much more dangerous than the retraction of paper riches. For the true treasure is found in the ability to argument ideas. That is a fortune that none of us can afford to lose . . .

Where is the Foot and Mouth Disease?

With all the noise that have been going on in Europe for the last month, the attention is finally coming to the US. We have been told that there is no danger to humans from this disease. Only animals need to be destroyed. But is that really true?

No, the 'Foot' is not the hoof of the animal, that I am referring in this account. It's the nadir of the prevarication that the 'Statist' use to confuse and distort the nature of a tax cut for all those who are the financier's of those funds. And the 'Mouth' is the insincere disingenuous intent of those lies.

Government creates no wealth. It only demands tribute from those who are the producers to fund their programs and redistribution schemes. The money is YOURS. We do not need to beg to demand it's return to us. The rhetoric from the likes of Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt is an insult to any sane and thinking person. Only those who willingly seek to share in the booty of these swindlers are supporters of this band of thieves. Yes, I'm talking directly to you government 'public servants'! You government pension check cashers. And you aspirant social engineers . . .

The quarantine on foul meat and potential contaminated carcass, needs to be applied to the real red meat industry of deceit. 'Were's The Beef', from these parasites? When will you demand the sustenance of true protein that is your legitimate reward from your own labors, the investment of your own saved capital and the spark from your own creative inspirations? We have all been sold a 'Bill of Goods' to accept a conversion to the vegetarian menu. Well, I'm tired of eating greens! I'm sick of being fed a diet of healthy approved cuisine, from the chefs in this tainted kitchen. It's time for the genuine health department of public opinion to close the doors of this house of infected rot. The feast from the bounty of our own fruits, is your birth right. When will you demand your place at the table, or are you content to wait for an invite? I'm ready to bake the dessert after the Beef Wellington is devoured. And I'm not about to ask permission to belch when I'm done. If it's good enough for Dick Cheney, we are also entitled to our own attacks of the heart . . . It's time to retain our own money to pay for them, as well.

Barbarians and 'THE CITY'

Having frequently traveled to London for well over this last decade, the changes in conditions are much appreciated. A Cosmopolitan mixture of this great city has always been evident. Neighborhoods are distinct with ethnic groups seeking to reside in their own enclaves. Contrast this with 'The City' and you will find a most traditional British atmosphere within Westminster. But over the years, a most disturbing trend is changing the nature of this society. As with the era in America where immigration was at its peak, new residents were eager to assimilate into the British culture with a sincere effort to learn, speak and use the language. The exception were those who wish to retain, ONLY, their own customs. Now this balance is in danger of disappearing. In many areas and neighborhoods, English is not spoken at all.

At one point we were warned that the Barbarians were at the gate. Today, they are more likely residing in the townhouse next to you! Yes; Sterling is still the currency of the realm, but the move to convert to the Euro is much more than just a change in the money that one uses. At the core of this debate is the very future of the kind of nation that England will become. The rural countryside retain their character and traditions, but how can any nation survive when the heart and soul of a society is discarded by those who by the good graces of their adopted land, allow themselves to reject the essence of their benefactors?

But all is not lost. The miracle of British culture is a living organism that resides in the character of her people. At the London Museum, a class of young school children were enthralled with the explanation of the great London fire. Their memory of this tale will stick with them throughout their entire life. The story teller was serving the highest function and purpose of her art. Little children were learning what it means to be British. The heritage of their culture are not just the displays and exhibits within the walls of this depository. The true legacy lies within the creation of an identity in each child. The knowledge and value of what it means to be an Englishman or woman, is the highest gift that a nation can bestow upon her citizens. Thank God for that inheritance from a great people.

London should be much more than commerce and monuments. If one restricts their view to the basic tour, the underbelly of diversity will not be confronted. Why will these new inhabitants not follow the tradition of their predecessors and assimilate? The changing character of Zone 3 is disturbing and sad. The tubes connect all the neighborhoods with transport, but the language is the glue that melts the downtrodden into a productive citizen. As long as the Barbarian chooses to be a primitive, he will remain one. The notion to discredit the 'WASP' is a central topic in this multicultural environment that has gone insane. The cure for London is in learning and knowing the meaning of what it means to be English. This is a lesson that is just as valid for America. Let us follow the lead of the teachers of that tradition, and accept the legitimacy of the greatness of our heritage. Only then will the atavistic become civilized. 'The City' will survive, because the wealth will be there. But London will remain, only if the English culture is taught and accepted by ALL their residents. Start with speaking the language to your neighbor. The life you save may well be your own.

Ronald Reagan - Man of the Century

On the celebration of a life worth lived, we have a hero who represented all that was good in an age of horror and suffering. Another figure in literature shares many of the same noble qualities, even though his fate is tragic. During another viewing today, of David Lean's masterwork, the central figure; Doctor Yurii Andreievich Zhivago, respects the splendor of life and has a profound devotion to justice. These traits run parallel to Reagan's eternal optimism and faith in the indomitable spirit of man and his will to banish those forces of depravity. Condemning the 'Evil Empire' to the rubble of a failed nightmare is the same struggle that the good doctor spent his life in mortal combat. How fitting that the most profound political accomplishment of the last century was achieved by a man who possessed the same courage of purpose and conviction as Zhivago.

The depth of the terror in the 'Collectivist' revolution is felt in the systematic destruction and dismantling of all civilized conduct. Who could be so naive to reason that the 'Peoples Paradise' is a vision of betterment? Who could accept the promises for equal treatment, when the direr consequences for noncompliance is elimination? And who could bring themselves to act as willing tools in the inflection of torture and execution of his fellow countryman? No this is not the realm of acceptable behavior for either man. It is the worse of all possible worlds, and a state of affairs that warrant a total lifetime commitment to battle against such forces. The purity of 'Ideology' is the sacred standard that the corrupt regime made all their judgments. It is the alter upon which all sacrifices were rendered, all blood was shed and all hope was expunged. How different are the convictions of Reagan. The domain that Yurii could only dream, became the world that Reagan restored.

In the private moments of ultimate despair and desperation, Lara the most tragic symbol of her entire wasted nation says, "What a terrible time to be alive". Zhivago knows only too well the torment of the revolution and the lost of dignity and personal future, but he reassures his love that life CAN have beauty and meaning. Within their surroundings and plight, how could this be? The answer is found in their daughter, and the desire for a better world for her. Much in the same way, Reagan shared this same vision for our children. He created the environment that pushed the evil empire into self desolation. It was he who gave and bought optimism back, not only for us, but also for Lara's daughter. So many have suffered and paid the final price for such a vision of the future. But one man achieved more, with the grace of God, to bring such goals into reality. Yurii died before he could see the true promise land. While the rest of us seldom revere the gift that we now enjoy, while it lasts.

For those who's appreciation is limited, never forget that enemy empires can rise again. And for those who seek that America establish her own world dominion, learn the lesson that Reagan taught us. The evil in the empire is NOT limited to foreign soil only. When the same 'Socialistic' systematic view exist, depravity soon joins. The promise of equality and justice, comes not from theft or forced conformity; but through mutual respect. Reagan gave up an opportunity of our age. Dont forego that chance for real progress. Lara's daughter deserves a better life. If you won't do it for her, then do it for your own. The future CAN be bright, just as Yurii saw. But it will require your demand to resist the same depravity, within your own country, that lead to the dread that we all should fear. Celebrate RR's life. His example should hearten us and his vision should inspire. Happy 90th.

Where Will the DemoRAT'S Party Turn?

All of DC is a buzz that its a done deal. Terry McAuliffe will be placed as head of the Party, next week. Klinton hasn't left the scene, but is placing his most visible money man in the top post. How happy most DemoRAT'S must be! The legacy is set and the next campaign is in full gear.

What will the sincere rank and file do, now that the Corporate donors are totally in charge? It never ceases to amaze how party supports are so willing to discard their own principles, for Party goals of winning the next election. Actually, the Survivor TV program has more similarities than the former parties of Jefferson or Lincoln. Or will the XFL be the better comparison? At this point in the honeymoon, Bush is making all the right moves, and is endearing himself to all of his loyal opposition. At least that is what we are being told. Real progress, can't be that far off. Oh, how that notion worries . . . .

The grunts of DemoRAT'S supporters and voters now has a symbol to wave and shout. We have not lost our leader, he is just taking a well deserved rest. Jesse has taken up the slack and Terry will keep picking up all the bills. Who cares that the penthouse costs a lot, those gals charge top rates. The only question will be, which night is Jesse's turn. Maybe the out of town speaking schedule will set the dates? Any bets how long before Marc Rich has him make a speech in Switzerland?

Isn't it time for Eric Holder to get the boot? Come on you loyal 'Asses', you can't be that dumb or stubborn to let him stick around working for 'Big Bad John'? The first order of business is to take the cure, and loss all those recollections! Surely, a team player needs to be taken care of in the normal way? Better not make any visits to those DC parks, any time soon. So if you are still a 'True Believe', you will surely have Bill Bradley speak out? You kicked out Ralph Nader, so who will you turn to? Prince Albert is off teaching the 'Greens' and Dickie G will be caring the bags for the love feast newlyweds. So we must turn to the only Savior left! That other bag who doesn't care for her hair any longer, "She Have Nothing To Prove". Yes, folks; HilLAIRy will design the interior of the new suite at the top of the heap. Please MS Senator, take the hint from your better half. He looks so good beyond those bars. Especially, when out on the town, with an evening of Quills, exaltation. Sorry, that's more in keeping with your own taste, Madame Representative.

Why battered Democrats stick with the Clintons by JOHN FUND

The Newsweek you will NOT Read

Drudge Reports: Late Wednesday top brass at NEWSWEEK made the call not to front a high-impact story crowning FOX NEWS the nation's cable news leader.

"The story will be running inside the magazine, not the cover," a top publishing source told the DRUDGE REPORT. "The decision was made at the highest levels of the corporation."

Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas developed the splash which caused a bitter battle between editors, and exposed a conflict of internal business interests and news reporting.

"Are we really prepared to name FOX America's news leader?!" shouted one NEWSWEEK staffer, according to sources. "We've got a goddamn business arrangement with MSNBC!"

So you finally see how news is reported for yourself, in this day of Corporate editing. The total collapse of CNN and the tail spin at MSNBC is big News, and more important, 'good news'. The reign of distortion and bias needs to cease, and as with most aspects in life, real competition is the means to bring about that change. FOXNEWS is different; O'Reilly is one of a kind in today's female pretty face, no brains, network reporting. No wonder the hacks are going ballistic, they are so used to getting their way that most could not understand reality if they were starring rate at it.

From Drudge again: At a posh Sally Quinn party earlier this week, MSNBC talker Chris Matthews went berserk over the pending O'Reilly and FOX NEWS spread, according to sources. "I guess someone told Chris that O'Reilly tops him in the ratings 2 to 1!" blasted an insider.

For you fellow news junkies, give it a try; "We Report, You Decide". Ultimately you have the power to switch and refuse to watch. Network News is a total void of International Reporting. The BBC America, is the only daily general news broadcast worth the time. Let Ted Turner buy into Pravdia, he already has one here in the US. And most of you have been loyal viewers. Its time for a real change. Use your remote. Better yet, check with Matt everyday.

Who's Got the Upper End?

For a most reluctant proponent of the RepubCANT'S, the first two months in power has been a pleasant surprise. The long view will tell the tale in the end, but the first report has a positive impression. Even if the notion of standing for 'Principle' is an allusion, it is a most refreshing change in appearance. By the rhetoric and the initial policy decisions, we all should be able to see a difference in the style in the Bush Administration, from the horrible nightmare that were are finally coming out of.

On the substance level, we must be more cautious. But the signs point that we may slow the march of Big Government, if not reverse its scope. I'll take what we can get, at this point. The real story is the manner by which the DemoRAT'S have been placed on the run. No, this is not time to celebrate at their demise, but it is fair to say that they have 'come a long way baby'. Not that this is their wish, but the perception war has begun to change and the image of the 'People's Party' is being exposed for the fraud it really is.

The $300.00 rebate offer is an insult! The campaign to sell more snake oil will not work this time. Relief is needed, not just for next week, but for the indefinite future. Their ranks are bending and will soon break, and the Rat's will start to jump ship. We should take note that the Media, while still hostile to Bush, has changed their tone from the campaign season. Power matter, to these hipsters of hype. And they know that the 'Cowboy' from Texas is a new Sheriff, and he walks the beat in a town that they once owned. Its long overdue to clean up this cattle stop, and the nightly drunks may just need to go dry. The shootout is not done, by that OK Coral is just around the next corner. The message is, clean up your act or you will be featured in the 'Epitaph' . . .

So what will you do Dash-and-Hart? Will you shell out the beef or will you gep off more jive? The times are-a-changing, and you days are numbered. The women folk are moving in, and they want to build a church. They no longer want to drink at your saloon. Your land grasp schemes and water right scams are over. If you think you can still get away with all your crimes, you are mistaken. The Marshall will have his deputies round you guy's up, and toss you all in the back of the bus. You'll spend time in the jail that you built yourself, or better yet; be run out of town on a rail that you sought to own.

Your getting beat, at a game you fixed. And the shopkeepers will no long pay the tribute you claim. It's time to grow this town that you have for so long, shamed. And your presence warrants only ignoble fame. It's time to go straight or risk a foul mix. One stirred in grease and applied with a stick. You have no one else to blame, and brought this all on yourselves. Our new 'Hero' wears white and hits what he aims. Time for you to find a new game . . .

Gladiator or Tyrant?

Now that we know that Maximus has won the accolades, can we hope that the same will be earned by our current leader? Or will he fall under the spell of power; and abuse the trust of the Republic? To date, 'W' is no Commodus, but neither is he a Marcus Aurelius. Whether he will adopt the courage and strength of will of General Maximus Decimus Meridius, only time and the judgment of the crowds will know. The vestiges of the Republic lingers, even as the Empire emerges; and the test of this lone star cowboy will be if he knows the difference and walks the walk.

The style has not exactly been a spectacle that rivals the games in the Coliseum, but nor has the body count reflected comparable causalities. But you say that this country is not at war, so why do we need a general? It is true that the barbarians have retreated to the frontiers, but the mob still clamors for more bread and a never ending circus. The hordes may not presently be from Germania, but the plebeians within the city are not natural born Romans. And the institutions of government have long ignored the counsel and wisdom of the Senate.

The masses respond to the Proximo's of this world, for their skill at creating the show and their art to entertain, which keeps them fat and happy. The consensus of accepting the rules of Caesars is known by all. For the penalties for resistance are swift and cruel. He is Rome and we all must bow, or become one of the next round of warriors for the games. 'W', will you seek the guidance that Constantine followed, even at the risk of ridicule and treachery from within your own Praetorian Guard? For most regimes fall from within, and because those that you has entrusted, may well follow the voices of their own gain.

But this assumes that you are different from all the rest. That you have seen the profound insight of Marcus Aurelius, and have pledged to restore the glory that was once Rome. The heights of that achievement was when the people had their voices heard by their Senate Representatives and each inhabitant freely accepted their responsibilities as a citizen. This was the dream and final bequest that Marcus sought. Maximus honored this goal and died in its pursuit. The second chance that the General bestowed, was squandered by those who followed. 'W', what will be your course, and will you risk your own comfort and safety in this war for the soul of our Nation?

The forum is active with support for your reign, but will you stop those 'Games' and return to the 'People', the money that they have already overpaid? By comparison to what today's Americans contribute, the sums from yesterday are but a small measure of the burden we now bear. The inducements to conform and accept the rule of an Emperor are suited to this age, for they deceive and distort the rights we relinquish. While those who rebel are fed to the beasts, that feed the appetite of the mobs for more pleasure, at the expense of their own neighbor. The greed for power that Commodus revered, and the killing of his own father, by his own hands; is much like the lust that Elite's conspire to slay the Republic that they despise and fear. So if you, Mr President, want to follow that cross, become like the General and stand against the crowd that your own father befriended and reclaim a heritage, that for far too long, has been put to shame. Become a Gladiator like Maximus, and rule like Constantine, because if you fail to seek this path, you may well become your own Commodus . . .

SARTRE - March 26, 2001

Please show me the difference?

A constant argument from the political faithful, 'True Believers'; is that the current two party system allows for choice in policy. There is a difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. Their philosophy and tenants have opposing contrasts that seek to pursue distinct directions for government. Everyone knows that the Republicans are the party of business, while the Democrats are the party of the people . . . . HELLO !!!!!!

Now that we have had our fairy tale for today, just what is the reality? If the serious observer wishes to seek a profound understanding of American Politics, they need to look at what the two parties do, and not what they say or claim to stand for with their rhetoric. Cast aside all the talk and analyize the legacy of the DemoRATS and the RepubCANT'S. The practical debate is always confined within the tight perimeters of an accepted and defended context. For those who will retort with: "politics is the art of the practical", explain why the practical is always defined as preserving the status quo of an all pervasive central government? The context that has a 'PC' dogmatic reverence is nothing more than a 'TC' sacred cow. You remember what 'TC' is, don't you? SARTRE has asked you if you follow its code and if you are one of its proponent? Yes, that nasty old term that is so offensive: Totalitarian Collectivists.

But isn't that exactly what both parties are doing? Buchanan and Nader have definitely exposed this scam once and for all. When you hear Sen Daschle cry about helping the less fortunate by taking from the rich, or when you listen to Sen Lott's argument for returning excessive levies to the tax payer; you are being seduced into accepting the fraud. The dispirited and clear account of the 'Beltway Two Step', dances to a MARCH and DIRECTION of an ever more expansion in control and reach of the Federal Monster. This is the central issue within any discussion of reform in either party. Until it can be proven that this thesis is NOT fact, you are deceiving yourselves and misleading others. So is this condition true?

Foreign Policy 'stops at the waters edge' ! Social Security and Medicare need to be protected and saved ! The growth in Federal Budgets needs to be limited ! The Dept of Education and Energy expanded ! The need for prescription coverage for the elderly ! Affirmative Action is not a quote system ! Women's Rights allow for Choice ! And courts protect the individual ! Are you getting the picture yet?

Both parties support an internationalist foreign policy, which is an abandonment of American self interests and tradition. Both parties are shills for a 'Ponze Scheme' of theft and redistribution of wealth. Both parties expand their own pay and pensions, and for that of the bureaucracy. Both parties champion design of curriculum and regulation of industry. Both parties want citizens to be even more dependent on government. Both parties cater to prejudice and support their own form of discrimination. Both parties are willing to codify murder. And both parties treat voters as an annoyance, while increasing their burdens.

Now this is the real and shameful record of the two parties, and any reform of corrupt institutions and pretentious falsehoods, will never reverse the cherished will to increase their own power, at the expense of all of us. If you disagree and care to dispute this analysis and argue that it is in error, point out the voices that truly seek to restore a Constitutional Republic within this current crop of oppressive dilettantes. I expect, that I may be waiting a long time for your answer . . .

The Drunk Never Knows When To Leave The Bar

The ABA is one of the most patrician interest groups to wheel power and influence. The nature of the this pressure group, is to bake their own cake and dish is out to their own. Like an inbred family where only first cousins marry each other, this group of charlatans scheme day and night to write, shape, mold and lobby the bills that will be placed into law. No wonder that their sense of privilege dictates that they are the enlighten class to pass judgment on who is acceptable to serve on the bench. Well, this band of merry men and women have suffered an insult that few would dare to offend such an esteem council.

So the ABA formal role in screening candidates for the Supreme Court and other federal judgeships will cease to run ruff shot over the process. The ABA will only get to know the identity of a nominee at the time that the nomination is submitted to the Senate and announced to the public. Pray tell, who does this Bush crowd think they are? It's enough to drive a good barrister to take up the bottle! And we all know that too much of those spirits will result in falling off that bench . . .

Now you say, what is wrong with the fox guarding the hen house? Surely, you are not saying that this compares to the NFL Players Association passing judgment on all new referees, writing the rule book and picking only from their own ranks every new candidate for the job? Nor could it be said that it could possible compare with National Chartered Banks owning all the shares in the privately own Federal Reserve Bank and then selecting for that board only from their own, while setting the interest rates at will? Well, of course NOT. The ABA are all honorable servants of the public interest. No conflicts here, only objective recommendations. No bias or self serving motivates! Who among us could ever accuse this beneficent assemblage of protectors of the 'Common Good' to Bork one of their own? No 'Ideology' test to pass on this bar examine.

H.G. Wells proclaimed: "The law giver, of all beings, most owes the law allegiance. He of all men should behave as though the law compelled him. But it is the universal weakness of mankind that what we are given to administer we presently imagine we own." So what is the difference between acting as if you own the rules to legislate, from passing judgment on who will be picked and selected as the interpreters of the laws that you pass? The bacchanal party that you have been on, has gone to your heads. The hangover that you have given us, has given us all the shakes. Now that you have been told, you have drank enough, what will you do? Will you just go to the next bar, or will you seek help at Alcohol Anonymous? Maybe another Prohibition Amendment needs to be past. This time to bar you kind from the bench, since you have shown an inability to hold your drink . . .

Reform Elections?

Now that the Senate has turned their attention to debate campaign finance reform, does anyone really think that the obvious solutions will be adopted? This really is a very simple issue, and the resolution of the problem should be clear to any serious observer. So what needs to be done?

1) All campaign donations need to be made by registered voters within the same party of the candidate. 2) Money can only be raised from within the district of the candidate. 3) All donators need to be identified with their amounts, and posted on the Internet within 48 hours. 4) Television Networks, as a condition of maintaining their license, will make available free air time, proportiobate to their viewership ratings and the percentage of votes the party has received from the last election. 5) Corporations, Unions and Organizations are banned, subject to criminal penalties, from making hard money to candidates and soft money donation to Parties. 6) Political Parties will be banned from receiving ANY donations, subject to criminal penalties, other than from individual voters. 7) Free Speech advocacy allowed ONLY on specific issues, without any reference to Candidates or Parties. 8) Foreign contributions would be subject to forfeiture of future business access to US markets, visa travel to US and subject to arrest and fines of Corporate Officers. 9) Federal contributions towards elections will be eliminated, Hatch Act violations strictly enforced. 10) Any Politician found guilty of violations will be subject to criminal penalties, removal from office, forfeiture of all benefits and pensions, and banned from running again for ANY office.

Ten easy little steps that will greatly restore common sense and accountability to the political process. The 11th would be banning any member of the BAR from running for ANY office, as a condition to enter the legal profession. This one may not pass muster by the Supreme Court, since it seems that they already believe that only those, of their own, are qualified to read and understand what the law actually says. Now stop and think about it! What is wrong with any of these conditions? You say, it will never happen? But that's NOT the point. Why won't these improvements become reality? Who are the forces that refuse to clean out their own house? And why do you go through another election cycle, always voting for the lessor of two evils?

It is time to start think outside of the box. If the elected officials will not give us reform, we need to look to other means and other leaders. Just tell me what Patrick Henry would say about the current condition? Sorry my friends, John McCain is no Patrick Henry . . .

The Bull Gets Deneutered

When panic enters the recesses of the consciousness, it's too late for the 'so called' investor. We all have heard that you buy when blood is in the street. But when Lord Rothschild uttered this axiom, he had advance notice that Wellington had just defeated Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo. For those of us who don't possess that kind of crystal ball, we must tread much more carefully. Will the vast majority, buy when they perceive a bottom, or will they be a seller on any tick up? Most of us have lulled ourselves into thinking that equities are INVESTMENTS! But just what constitutes an investment?

I was a bear on the S & P at 700. My real time screen showed amble evidence that fundamentals didn't warrant any further rise. My 'Japanese Candlestick' technical indicators clearly pointed to dark shadows on the horizon. But my experience and fear of being wrong, told me that this game was too risky to sell short. Well how many of you have lost sight of that prudence, and have fallen in love with your positions? The reality of the psychological damage that has been felt, will not be averted with the next Greenspan cut in rates. The presence of the 'Day Trader', has waned and odds are, he will not return. When a gambler losses his wad, he needs to raise another stake before he jumps back in.

At the core of this allusion is the emotion that seduces individuals by the accumulation of increased values, at the risk of forgetting the basic law of economics.

"There is nothing in economic life so willfully misunderstood as the great speculative episode. When a mood of excitement pervades a market or surrounds an investment prospect, when there is a claim of unique opportunity based on special foresight, all sensible people should circle the wagons; it is time for caution." - John Kenneth Galbraith

A valid admonition from one who is hardly the staunchest supporter of Free Enterprise. But the essential lesson that each of us should accept lies within the nature of the very markets that cause such a wide swing in values, to begin with. To deny that insiders control the direction of the exchange and the time that a reversal will be set in motion, is to dispute the very character of financial transactions. Most of you already accept this reality because you place your money in mutual funds. You believe that YOUR professional is one of those insiders and that he will know when and what to do. Don't you? So why is it so difficult for you to accept that the real insiders, the true movers, and the most powerful manipulators CAN and DO create market panics?

For my money, Jessie Livermore was the true genius trader. And even this master of the market ended up broke . . . Those who defeated Jessie are the same people who placed the Greenspan's to head their own privately owned central bank, The Federal Reserve. And you still want to contend that you are a judicious long term INVESTOR? Maybe you need to face that we are all pawns in a game that few even know is being played.

The best part about the stock market these days is not having to worry about capital gains taxes. - Alan Greenspan

Every man . . . should periodically be compelled to listen to opinions which are infuriating to him. To hear nothing but what is pleasing to one is to make a pillow of the mind.
