Simplicity

I am but a simple girl
Leading a simple life--
I live in a simple house,
With no family other than
My son and a father in 
Another place.

I haven't much money,
Or many possessions,
But I am rich in a far
Different way-- Shiva
Watches me and protects me,
And gives me the wealth of
His love.

Life was hard in the past
As I was victim to those
Who were supposed to be my blood,
And life at the hands of my peers 
Was no easier...

But I had a mother and a grandmother
Who loved me, and after their passing
I moved on my own, and while life in
The present has had its share of 
Challenges, I have no regrets, for I
Am the person I am meant to be...

Instead of money and wealth, I have
Experience and wisdom, and these things
Are far more valuable, for it is these 
I can pass to my son, and will be worth
Far more than the evil of the almighty dollar.
