The past few days have been great! Samson has been sleeping through the night with no signs of distress at all. He has been sleeping alot during the day also, but I imagine that's the antibiotics making him drowsy. His appetite is still good and he's back to drinking water. We will be seeing the vet one day this week...he will check on his heart and run more blood work to see his white blood count. Hopefully this Amoxycillin will have worked and the count will be down!

Had another doctor visit. He wanted to run more blood work to check his white blood count. I found out a little more about this blood count thing. The normal range is between 10,000 - 17,000. On Samson's earlier visits he was running between 23,000 - 29,000. Today his count was 19,000! YEAH! Just slightly above normal. So it looks like the extra dose of antibiotics are working. I am to keep Samson on the extra dose for one more week....which at this rate will bring the count well into the normal range. Dr. Lockhart says, unless we are experiencing any problems, he shouldn't need to see him for 2 months. He wants to check his lungs and blood levels in case we need to adjust the medications. Samson has been doing fine!

Samson has had a great week! It has been very hot here (in the 80's), so he has had some coughing during the days, but at night he seems to come alive! I bought him a 'foodball' at Walmart...and he's acting like a pup again! After awhile I take it away from him so he doesn't get too excited. It's great to see him feeling so well!

Not too many tough times lately. He has had moments of rough breathing or coughing....but nothing too serious. All in all it's been a pretty good week...although I can tell he's not feeling well. He's just not his old cheerful, active self. He's sleeping alot more and moving around alot slower. I imagine this hot, humid weather has something to do with that. He seems to be adjusting to his new food well.

Thankfully we have nothing new to report...Samson has been doing great with his medication! No signs of heavy breathing...no distress! A little cough now and then, but nothing too serious.
