The successor to the deadly mobile armor used by Anavel Gato during Operation Stardust, this huge machine was developed by the Axis Zeons for the personal use of Char Aznable (hence its red color scheme). Designed for a newtype pilot, it sports a complement of funnels in addition to the lethal arsenal of the original Neue Ziel.

This immense mobile armor is a simplified and streamlined form of the original Zodiac, from Gundam Sentinel. Its development was shelved when the Axis Zeons, having obtained the necessary technology from the Earth Federation, decided to concentrate instead on quasi-psycommu mobile suits that could be operated by non-newtype pilots.

When the Axis Zeons realized that their military might was insufficient to carry out a full-scale Earth invasion, they drafted a couple of alternate plans to force the Earth Federation to give in to their demands. In addition to the colony drop strategy ultimately executed in Gundam ZZ, the Axis considered carrying out nuclear attacks, for which this nuclear-capable mobile suit was designed. However, they were unable to seize the necessary warheads from the Federation's Luna Two depot, and the prototype Gigantic was consequently mothballed.

The Axis Zeons' first attempt to develop a psycommu mobile suit that could be used by ordinary humans, the Hamma Hamma, ended in failure. This is what the hypothetical end result would have been had the Axis successfully developed the quasi-psycommu system. Its oversized left arm is outfitted with an extendable wired mega beam cannon.

This modified version of the YMS-15 Gyan so beloved of Ma Kube is the missing link that connects it to the Axis Zeons' R Jarja. Like the original, it eschews a beam rifle in favor of a missile-packed shield and a huge beam sword.
