New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
Endless Waltz

Format: Original video series, theatrical motion picture
Story Date: After Colony 196

Less than a year after the abrupt and mystifying conclusion of the Gundam Wing television series, this three-part original video series arrived to wrap up the hit alternate-universe story. Endless Waltz is both a sequel and a prequel to the television series, depicting a new crisis one year after the series's final battle and throwing in relevant flashbacks from the heroes' hitherto-mysterious pasts. More details are available in writer Katsuyuki Sumisawa's Endless Waltz novelization and in his "Episode Zero" comic.

Featuring revamped Gundam designs by fan favorite Hajime Katoki, sporting a lavish animation budget, and answering all manner of lingering questions about the five "G-boys," the video series was a definite hit. Ironically, the conclusion of Endless Waltz, while ideologically satisfying, brought the Gundam Wing story to a pretty definite close just as the franchise was taking off. A "special edition" theatrical version was released in 1998, with some extra footage and extended sequences of the Gundams kicking butt.
