Dear pehlivan,
This is our invitation to all
Pehlivan (oiled wrestlers) between 12 and 40
years of age to participate as wrestler during
the 5th Amsterdam Kirkpinar of European
Championship Oilwrestling 2001
The Amsterdam Kirkpinar is the
most important oilwrestling contest outside
Turkey and the main event in this sport in
Europe. To promote this sport to the maximal
level we decided to keep the old tradition and
have this contest open to any male older than 12
year. For the individual oilwrestler there are
no requirements as licences or memberships.
This in accordance with the tradition and dispite
the existence of several federations, claiming to
represent "oil wrestling".
When a national team will enter
as such, it must bring its own flag and anthem on
cd or cassette. Identification is necessary for
security reasons.
From Turkey the greatest of all
champions, mr. Ahmet Tasci, has already enlisted
to participate in the Amsterdam Kirkpinar 2001.
Please Note: The Meet Director is
drs. Veyis Güngör, host city is Amsterdam, The
Netherlands and the date of the Kirkpinar is on
Sunday the 17th of June 2001 at Sportpark Jaap
Eden, Radioweg 64, Amsterdam-Watergraafsmeer.
Arrivals: by flight at Schiphol
Amsterdam Airport.
By train: Amsterdam Central Station.
Please inform us about your arrival date, hours
and flight no. This will allow us a perfect
pick-up service from the airport or railway
station.
Please note that changes of the
timetable are possible by amount of nominations
at technical meeting.

OLIEWORSTELEN IN EUROPA
In Nederland (en West Europa)
werd het traditioneel Turks olieworstelen
geintroduceert door de vereniging Türkevi (Turks
Huis) te Amsterdam. Voorzitter is drs. Veyis
Güngor en samen met Mohamed el-Fers (MokumTV)
waren de initiatiefnemer om de Amsterdam
Kirkpinar te houden.
Deelname aan de Amsterdam
Kirkpinar staat open voor iedere man ouder dan 12
jaar. Deelnemers onder de 18 jaar met toestemming
van ouder/voogd). Iedere Pehlivan
(olieworstelaar) neemt als individueel en op
eigen risico deel. Deelname is op geen enkele
wijze gebonden aan nationaliteit, religie,
politieke overtuiging, ras, licenties en/of
lidmaatschap van clubs, vereniging of federaties.
Dit in overeenstemming met de eeuwenoude traditie
van deze schitterende sport
