Nakkas Eyup was a strong farmerboy from the village of Kestanelik Köy near Catalca.

He became champion of the Edirne Kirkpinar before the Turkish Republic replaced the Ottoman Empire.

He was nicknamed Nakkas (miniaturist) because he was very carefully while wrestling, so everybody say his style is that of a miniaturist.
