Adali Halil was born in 1871 in the village of Kilise Köy (Greece). His coach was Kel Alico and Adali Halil was 18 years continuously Edirne Kirkpinar wrestling Champion. He died in Edirne in 1926 and was buried on the special erected Pehlivan Cemetery. At the beginning of the Edirne Kirkpinar all wrestlers and officials go to his grave for a ceremonial prayer.
