Angel,
From the first time that I saw you, I have loved you. When we met, I kicked you from above and sent you flying. You saved me from ‘The Three.’ I trusted my heart with you. How could we be so different, but exactly alike? When I sent you to hell, I almost died, but come to think of it, a lot of the times we met, one of us almost always died. But I did once, and I was given another chance. It was to be with you.
The Mayor. Our last joint battle. How could I have let you go, Angel, my love? Do you remember what you said to me? You should have let me make my own decisions. Remember when you were human? I remember that day, just like I said I would. Again, you chose for me, but now I understand that you did the right thing.
I have made so many mistakes during my life, and slayers are only supposed to have a short life span, right? There have been times I could have killed myself. The first of those is when you left me. Don’t you remember me telling you that you were the one freaky thing in my freaky life that made sense? You were, and still am my soul mate. We were made to be with each other, so when you left, my soul almost died.
The second mistake was Parker, what was I thinking with him? I guess I was trying to convince myself that there was another you out there, but that would not be true, because you only have one soul mate and that Angel, was you.
Riley, another mistake, another couple of years. He lied to me so many times and he has also been really thick in the head! After he quit the Initiative, he thought my life would be normal, without slayage problems. He even wanted me to move to Iowa with him and get married! I think not! I was walking back to my dorm one evening when I overheard Willow and Xander talking. Xander kept on telling Will that Fish-Boy (Riley) was bad for me and how you were so much better. Even Willow agreed.
Those were my main mistakes but telling you that I didn’t trust you or even love you in that police station was the worst! I just want to thank you for beating the crap out of Fish-Boy. I was glad you came.
This was all the paper that I was able to gather up for this letter, so I’d better go, but I just want you to know that I love you and I will be there.
