This is after Season 2 Finale after Buffy had to kill, Angel to save the world.
It had been two weeks since it happened. She could still see the look on his face. Every time she closed her eyes she saw him disappear into the gates of Hell, and she'd put him there.
Buffy was in L. A now hiding from the terrible decision with Angel. She could not even look at herself in the mirror, because when she did she saw the killer of the man she loved.
Today she came home from the grocery shopping. She was cleaning out her drawer when she saw it. The ring that Angel had given her for her 17th Birthday. That night is when it all had started. She remembered it like it was yesterday. She lied down on her bed and wept. She cried for a long while.
She was crying so hard that she did not hear his voice, but she did.
"Buffy please don't cry" It was his voice. His sweet, loving voice. The voice of the man she cared about, the man she loved.
She had dreamed about the day that Angel would come back to her. So many times she would dream it then wake up and realize it was a dream. She had to turn around to see if this was one of those dreams. She turned around and he was there. Just standing right there. Buffy felt tears falling from her face. He was actually there.
"Oh my Buffy, please don't cry. You've cried enough tears." Angel said to her.
"Angel are you really here?" Buffy choked out.
"Not for long, they let me come back to see you." Angel said. "I couldn't stand to be away from you." Angel said to her. He loved her so much.
"Oh God Angel." Buffy said running to him. He wrapped his arms around her, and let her cry in his arms.
"Angel, Oh God, how can you forgive me I killed you, I stabbed you sending you to Hell, how can you hold me when I did that to you." Buffy said weeping. She'd been waiting so long to see him, to apologize, but it seemed like he loved her as he did before he turned.
"Oh, Buffy how can I be mad at you. You saved the world. I killed Jenny I deserved it. I love you no matter what you do. You did the right thing. You are my Buffy and you always will be." Angel said, now he had tears running down his face.
"Are you staying forever?" Buffy asked him. She did not want to know the answer because she could not handle if he could not stay. And she wanted him to stay so badly.
"I wish I could my love, but I'm only here to help you out, so you can fix things with your friends, and you family. You need to make things right." They were both sitting on the bed now.
"Oh, my friends Angel I can't go back to them. After I killed you I left. I didn't even tell anyone where I was going or when I'd be back. I can't go back to them." Buffy said wiping the tears that were finally done coming.
"My Mom, she kicked me out. She found out I was the slayer then thought I was crazy. I went to leave then she said if I left I could never come back. I had to leave, I had to stop the world from ending." Buffy explained to him. It felt so good to get this stuff out. She had no one else to tell, since she had left. Now she needed to catch up. And he'd be with her to help.
It was time for Angel to go. They worked everything out. And now she had to go fix it. She was herself again.
"Angel, please don't go I can't live without you. I need you." Buffy said starting to cry again.
"Sweet heart. I have to go. Now, you go back to Sunnydale and fix this I know you can. And remember you are my Buffy and "
"And I always be. And you will always be my Angel. Forever." Buffy finish for him. They were both crying.
They kissed, they said good-bye, and he left.
The rest of the night she cried. Wondering about her mother, her friends, Giles, and if she'd ever see her darling Angel ever again. *********************************
She was on her way back into Sunnydale. She'd just gotten into town. She decided to go to her mom's first.
"She knocked on the door and the door flew open 'oh no! Something's happened to Mom!'
She walked in kinda running then heard: WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!
Everyone was there. She saw Giles, her Mom, Willow, Xander, Oz, even Cordelia, and Anya too. And Angel
"ANGEL??" Buffy said.
"What are you doing here?" She said crying.
"I can stay, and yes forever." Buffy ran and kissed Angel.
"Oh God, I am so sorry everyone I don't mean to hurt you. I am so sorry." Buffy said.
"Buff, it's okay. Angel explained to Buffy what happened in the Mausoleum." Xander gave Buffy a hug.
Buffy hugged everyone.
"Wait a minute, Angel it's daylight how did you get here? And why aren't you busting into flames standing in the sun? Is that your heart beating?" Buffy said tears coming to her eyes.
"That's the other surprise. I'm human. They said that I had brought the true slayer back to herself. So this is my reward. I'm human." Angel said crying.
He was human. He was human, and with her.
Buffy and Angel could be together now. Together Forever!!
