Hey this is my first fic, and I'm only 13 so be gentle when you write feedback. I'm not the evil Joss so please dont sue me:) This is in season 5 after "No place Like home" which is right after Buffy turns 20. Riley is gone!!! ENJOY!!

"Hello?" Angel asked into the phone, he wondered why Cordy, Wes, or Gunn had not picked it up. 'oh yeah I fired them' he thought.

"Angel?" asked the paerson on the other line. Right away he knew who it was, but the question was why was she calling him?

"Buffy um, hi Happy B-lated Birthday. You akay?" Angel asked. It was hard to talk to her, their relationship had been over but they both wanted it back.

"Oh thanx, I got your card yesterday" Buffy said weakily she knew he knew something was wrong but she just did not wanna come right out and say it.

"Buffy you did not answer my question are you okay?" Angel asked even though he knew something was wrong. He could tell by her voice. Angel missed Buffy so badly but they both had different lives now.

"No, I need your help. This God named Glory is trying to do something, I'm not sure what at the moment but I really need your help, and I cant do it without you." Buffy explained. She had no idea it would be this hard for her to ask him. But why?

"Oh where's Riley?" Something came over Angel, he jad just blurted it out not caring how it would make her and him feel.

"He, he......" Buffy trailed off. How could she tell him ' Oh yeah Angel you were right, Riley left me, and now I have no one, and all I can do is sit and remember all we did together, and me nissing you, and the hurt, and the love is coming back' she couldn't say that.

"He's fine but I need you. He can't handle this." Buffy held back the tears and heartache of lieing to him.

As much as Angel loved hearing the words that she needed him it still didn't change anything.

"Buffy I'm sorry, I can't help you. Find someone else to handle your problems" He hung up the phone. He did not wanna be mean but if he went back to Sunnydale he would remember to much, and want to much. **************

"What did he say?" Buffy's best friend asked her. Willow knew that Buffy had a lot of bravery to call and ask Angel to help, but by her asking him to help, she was basically asking him back to her.

"He won't help, he said that I had to find someone else to handle my problems. He asked me about Riley" Buffy hated feeling like she could not caount on Angel. They both agreed to be friends, and to keep in touch but that was fading away with the time.

"Oh Buffy I'm sorry I know how tough this has been for you." Willow said. She really did not know how to make things better for her. She did not want Buffy to feel like she could not handle things, but she couldn't. Buffy sat down in her usual seat in the Magick Shop.

"Hey guys did we find any cool new demons that can break my arm, now that it's out of it's cast." Xander was always trying to make people laugh, especially about demons hurting him.

"Oh I called Angel to see if he would help with Glory but he said no." Buffy said lying her head down on the table.

"Oh, Deadboy how is he? Last time I seen him he was playing hide-and-go-seek with you, but without you knowing or seeking." Xander replied. He never really liked Angel. He never trusted Angel, and never fully forgave him for killing Jenny even though it wasn't really him that did it.

"Xander, cant you be serious for one minute!!!!!" Willow threw her notebook at him, or rather made it fly at him. She was his best friend, along with Buffy but his comedy got too much sometimes.

"Oh sorry Buffy, why did he say no. I dout he has anything better to do with his snotty, vision girl QueenC!" Xander sat down next to Buffy.

"Do you guys realize how much crap weve been through together" Willow asked them

"Yeah High school, was a big part of the crap." Buffy replied. It was weird she hated high school becasue of all the sacrifices she had to make since being the slayer, she had just been adjusting. But at the same time it was the best time in her life. She had come to Sunnydale, met Willow, Giles, Xander, Cordy, Oz, Wesley, Spike, and most importantly Angel. But he was gone now.

"How many apocolypses have we faced now?" Xander asked breaking the silence.

"Why would he say no, what did I do to make him mad at me?" Buffy asked them. She just couldn't stop thinking about Angel. Whenever she would start a conversation it would eventually lead to her and Angel being together, and she missed that so badly.

"Buffy, I thought we were done talking about Angel." Willow said. She knew if she kept talking about Angel she would eventually cry, and Buffy had cried enough over Angel.

"Oh, right Sorry. I just would never think that he would say no" Buffy could feel the tears coming.

"Oh I wish I could do the whole sharing our misery thing, But I have stuff to take care of. See-ya" Xander could not take it anymore. Xander walked out of the Magick shop and made sure he had his keys.
