He could not believe what Willow had just said. Angel looked around the room. Cordelia had her hand over her mouth and was crying, gasping loudly Wesley was sitting on the couch, while silent tears rolled down his face.
“How did this happen!” Angel yelled at Willow. She sat back down, and buried her face in her hands and cried again.
Angel fell to the ground and cried, she was gone. The one woman that he loved, and the person that understood him just by looking at him. He got up and started raging. He knocked off all the papers, went to the wall, and started punching, with tears still rolling down. Blood on his hands, he would not stop punching.
Willow got up off the couch after hearing countless punches, and walked toward Angel. She put her hand on his shoulder. He stopped punching and looked at her. Buffy’s best friend in the whole world.
They hugged crying. They cried in each other’s arms for a long while. He just could not stop crying. He kept thinking about if he had stayed in town after Joyce’s funeral. He kept thinking that if he had stayed she would still be alive. As he closed his eyes, he remembered all the things about her. Her smell, her gentle touch, her voice, her beautiful green eyes, and the passionate kiss she would always give him.
All this and more came back to him. How could she be gone? She never deserved any of this. She did not choose to be burdened with this. A long while passed, and they all had to hold their tears while Willow told them what happened. They all sat down.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to say everything with out breaking down in tears.” Willow said wiping her eyes.
Angel took her hand. “Just do the best you can.”
“Okay” Willow said. Angel notices how her voice was different somehow. It was hollow it had no meaning to it. No feeling. I guess when you lose you best friend feeling just kinda goes away.
“Well, after Joyce died Dawn tried to resurrect her. Buffy stopped her. Then Buffy thought that Joyce did not know that she loved her. So she went on this quest, and found out Death is her gift.” She explained everything. About Spike, Tara, and Giles. Then she explained how Glory found out that Dawn was the Key, and how they left. Ben turned into Glory, and took Dawn she explained what Dawn was for, and what would happen if her blood were spilled. She told them how they sent the Buffy-bot to fight Glory, and how once the Buffy-bot’s head flew off the real Buffy beat her with the troll God’s hammer.
“I reached Spike telepathically and told him to go up and save Dawn, because someone was up there.” She took a tissue and dabbed her eyes because she knew it was coming. She looked at Angel he had tears rolling down his face. She continued.
“Spike went up there, but whoever was up there stabbed him and sent him flying off that tower thing. Glory was badly hurt, and she turned back to Ben. Buffy cannot kill a human, so she left to get Dawn. Giles put his hand over Ben’s mouth, and killed him. Just as Buffy got to Dawn, the lizard person cut Dawn. Buffy pushed him off, and untied Dawn. At the same time the portal opened. Dawn tried to jump but…” Willow had tears sliding down her face. “Buffy realized that since the monks made Dawn out of her, and that they both have Summers blood their blood was the same. So she told Dawn a couple of things, then jumped and closed the portal. Angel, she saved us, she saved everyone, and the world.” Angel and Willow hugged again crying.
“She told Dawn to tell you she loved you, she never stopped loving you. Angel, you were her life. I remember one time she asked me what life was without you. She said for me to give you these, and she’s wearing it now.” Willow said handing Angel an envelope.
“Now, the funeral, Oh God I can’t believe I’m sayin this. It’s Tuesday at 6:30pm right after sunset. We did that so you and Spike can come. I have to go now. Angel, you meant everything to her, even if she didn’t show it sometimes. She knows you love her”
Angel and Willow hugged she hugged Cordelia and Wesley, then left.
“Guys will you please go home, Cordelia will you take Fred to your place?” Angel said to them. There was no use hiding the tears from them.
“Of course. If you need anything, just call.” Cordelia said giving him a hug. She and Fred walked out.
Wesley came over “Angel don’t blame yourself. You can take off as long as you need to. And remember you’re a man with a demon inside, not the other way around.” Wesley said, then hugged him
“Thanks Wes” Angel said. Then Wesley walked out of the door. Gunn looked at Angel, nodded his head then left following Wesley.
Angel went over to the couch and put the envelope on the coffee table. He stared at it for a while. Just knowing it was from her brought tears to his eyes. He just could not bring himself to open it. After an hour of staring at it, he opened it. Inside were two pieces of paper, a picture and a little box. He looked at the picture first.
It was a picture of him and Buffy dancing at Prom. He remembered how beautiful she looked. He remembered that night.
“I never thought you’d come.”
“It’s a big night. I didn’t wan miss it.”
“Look Buffy it’s just for tonight it doesn’t mean”
“I know. I mean I understand”
“Will you dance with me?”
There was a half sheet of paper attached to it. He read it This was my favorite picture. Giles had taken it for the Yearbook. I do not know why I waited so long to tell you this but we were named “Most likely to last forever” I wish that were true. I tried to hate you when you left, but I could not
He could barely read the last few sentences, because his eyes were filled with tears. He looked in the box. He opened it and could not help but cry.
It was a gold Claddagh ring. There was a little folded piece of paper in the box. He read it. Angel, If you are reading this, it means I died beating Glory. Don’t blame yourself Angel. I died doing what I love, and what I do best. Saving the world. This is a gold Claddaugh ring. I figured this said most of it. Look on the inside, there’s a message that will explain the rest. Angel took the Claddagh ring and looked on the inside, engraved in it said:
Buffy and Angel Forever
He put the ring on his right hand. Now on his left hand he had the silver ring that he gave Buffy, and on his right hand, he had his new one. He wiped more tears from his eyes. After this, he could not bring himself to open, and read the letter. All he did was cry. H cried for about 6 hours. He woke up on the couch and had dried tears all over his face.
He had to read the letter that Buffy wrote him. He took it out of the envelope, and read it. Her writing even made tears come to his eyes.
Angel, I wrote this right after you left after mom’s funeral. Somehow, I knew I would not make it though this Apocalypse. I told Willow if I died to give this to you along with the other things. I wanted to tell you I love you, I’ve always loved you. When you left so I could have a normal life, I tried. I tried to because I knew you wanted me to. I tried being with Riley but it didn’t work. He went around behind my back, and paid two vampires to bite him, and suck his blood. One night Spike showed me what he was doing. He said that the reason why he started doing it is because he wanted to get back at me for Dracula biting me, and he wanted to know why Dracula and you have so much power over me. Then he told me that I did not give him or risk everything that he gave and risked for me. He said I didn’t love him, and the sad part was that I knew I didn’t love him I just needed to hear it from someone else. I don’t love him I never did, and never will. I love you. I fe! el terrible about everything I did to you. Whenever I would kiss Riley, I would see you looking back. I wanted to tell you that I remember. I remember when you turned human. I remember everything. The Oracles said that if I told you it would hurt you too much so I did not say anything. I guess the mind-erasing thing doesn’t work on slayers or something. Why? Why did you give your humanity for me? You should have that. But I guess there’s no regretting now. I thought that you should know. I want to apologize to you. We said we’d stay in touch but I acted like you weren’t a part of my life. The reason is that every time I saw you I’d remember that day. What you did was so special, and it meant the world to me, but not being able to tell you that killed me, but now I can. Do you remember Christmas? I remember that so well. When I saw you on top of the hill your eyes were full of emptiness and pain, and I knew that I filled your life with feeling and happiness.! I am not afraid to die. I have learned that there are worst things than dying. I guess that’s it, this is Good-bye. I don’t want it to come but it is. I’m certain that we will meet in heaven some day, I’ll wait for you Angel. And remember I will NEVER FORGET.

Angel put down the letter not knowing what to do. He could not believe that she remembered. Just thinking about that day made him cry. Out of the 245 years he’s been here that was the best, and the worst. He remembered seeing her in the sun. She even looked more beautiful in the sun, which was hard to believe because he did not think that Buffy could get any more beautiful.
Once he was out of memory lane he folded the papers and put it back into the envelope. He knew what he had to do. As he grabbed his coast and headed for the door he thought:
It might not work But I have to try.
Then he walked out.

When the lights faded the Oracle tunnel was empty. He expected it to be. He started walking through the tunnel. He already knew what he was gonna say. When he was about halfway through when he saw them. They were the Oracles, but the Oracles were dead.
“What are you doing here?” Said the male he was always very mean to Angel. “I thought you guys were dead!” “Well once we died the Powers That Be realized how helpful we are so he made us alive again.” “Oh well the reason I’m here is because….” “Say no more we know why you are here. The slayer has died.” “I gave my humanity for her, and you allowed that. You turned back time, so I could change everything. Now you are going to do it again.” “You are giving us orders. You want us to turn back time so you can get your girlfriend back. This is unreasonable! You are asking us to change fate!” “She’s more than just my girlfriend, we all know that. She is the reason I keep going. Because if I work hard enough, I will become human, and we can be together. Hut without her there is no reason for me to fight. You either turn back time, or lose one great warrior. Please I can’t help anyone if she’s dead.” “If we do this we don’t know where it will take you in time.” “I don’t care, as long as I can stop her from dying do it.” “As you wish” *
Angel was on top of this big tower thing. He looked ahead of him and saw Dawn.
“Angel, help me please, untie me.” Dawn said so scared.
Angel ran over to her. “It’s okay sweetie, I got ya.” Angel untied her, and made sure she was all right. She was fine except for shaking all over.
“Here put this on. Now what's going on. You got to tell me really fast if we are going to make it out of here alive.” Angel said putting his jacket on her, and picking her up, then started walking down the tower.
Dawn told Angel about their plan, just as they got to the bottom of the stairs.
“Willow, move these people.” Angel yelled. “Angel? Okay!” Willow said, and grabbed Tara’s hand and made all the people in the way move with magic.
Buffy was still fighting Glory, and Dawn was safe. Glory turned back into Ben, and Giles killed him.
Buffy ran over to Dawn and hugged her then turned to Angel,
“How the hell did you get here?” Buffy said very confused.
Just then Angel fell to the ground, and got back up with a heartbeat.
“One word- Oracles.” Angel said. Then he took Buffy’s hand and put it on his heart.
“Oh my God! Angel looks like your reward came early.” Buffy said and kissed Angel.
“There goes that “Dead Boy” expression.” Xander said, making everyone laugh.
“Oh, and here, you need to rip this letter up. Cause it’s not gonna happen for a while.” Angel said giving her the letter she wrote him, and showing her the gold Claddagh ring.
