Meilin, is also a transfer student from Li's hometown and ends up in Sakura and Li's class. She is in love with Li and very competitive with any girl who even looks Li, especially Sakura!
Though she is a very skilled and trained fighter, Meilin has no magical powers of her own, but still insist that she can help to capture the Clow Cards. Like Li she too has official clothes she wears to capture Clow Cards in. Unlike Sakura she wears the same outfit.
She later tells Sakura that she and Li have been training together since they were little. Even though she knew she had no power she felt that maybe she could still help if she trained with Li and his teachers and practiced very hard. She turned out to be an excellent fighter, in fact her first day in town she takes on the Fight Card. She wore it down enough that Sakura was able to capture it with help from the power card.

At first, Meilin and Sakura didn't get along because she thought Sakura was trying to compete for Li's affection. Later just as Meilin and Sakura start to get along, Meilin announces that she's going back to Hong Kong because her grandmother was sick and that her family needs her there. At the airport she still warns Sakura to watch out that she'd be back someday.
