Her digivice was once a card reader. Everyone who  follows the Digimon card games call Rika the Digimon Queen because she's so good at the game. Dozens of Digimon appeared to her all wanting her to be there tamer but she said she couldn't train them all. All she wanted was just one strong Digimon to train. Then when she got her digivice she thought that meant she could get a free wish so she asked for Renamon to be her Digimon. </div> <div>      Renamon always absorbs the data of the monsters she kills to try to help make her stronger and maybe even to digivolve. But in the end it took Rika's care and compassion to allow Renamon to digivolve. When Rika admitted her true feelings for Renamon she was able to digivolve to Kyuubimon a fox with 9 tails. When Kyuubimon didn't absorb the data of her enemy Rika asked her why.  Kyuubimon told Rika she didn't need to anymore. The only thing she needs to Digivolve is her.
