Every church you see in America today is built of bricks, mortar, glass, wood, or steel. Some are magnificent, like the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., and some are very small, like the Church of the Resurrection in Clanton, Alabama. And some are like St. Patrick, a family church looking after its flock. But the Godly spirit of a church -- any church -- lies mainly within the hearts of its people.
The warmth of St. Patrick is evident as soon as you walk into the church. There is always a smile, a friendly handshake, or a caring hug to be found. If there is ever anyone in need, this caring generosity is brought forth at its best.
That is what is so special about our parish -- the giving spirit to help those who need it, not only in large ways, but also in the small day-to-day ways that mean so much. St. Patrick Parish is a warm extension of God's love here on earth.
