This group of Catholic men and their families has become the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization. Last year, the Knights throughout the world gave more than $109 million and more than 55 million hours of volunteer service to a broad range of church, community, family, and youth charities, programs, and activities.
At every level -- in the Vatican and right here at St. Patrick Parish, the Knights of Columbus stand in support of the Church and the bishops and priests. Whether constructing the Maderno Atrium and the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica or constructing a new storage building at St. Patrick, or taking the lead in evangelization on a global scale or sponsoring a family hour of prayer at this church, odds are you will find that the helping hands are those of the Knights.
For example, in our own City of Adamsville, the Knights have raised money for the Special Education Program at Adamsville Elementary School, and we are in the process of adopting the mile stretch of Minor Parkway that runs in front of St. Patrick through the "Adopt-A-Mile" program.
Knights of Columbus families are called to be evangelists not by preaching on street corners, but by spreading the Good News of the Gospel through their charitable works and the example of their lives as Catholics in our community.
Currently, the Knights of Columbus are conducting a special Holy Year membership campaign under the theme of "Jubilee 2000: Share The Joy." Come find out what it's all about!
