New Pastoral Council members selected:  Congratulations to Chris Muro and Phillip Troha on being chosen to membership on our Pastoral Council.  They will serve for three years, replacing Mike Muro and Keith Marks.  We extend our very sincerest thanks to Mike and Keith for their years of dedicated service.  We thank all those who agreed to serve, if selected; it was a very close selection.

Father Ray Announces Retirement:  After 12 years as pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Father Ray Murrin has announced his retirement.  The following is the text of a letter from Fr. Ray that was enclosed in the parish bulletin for the weekend of March 4:

Dear Beloved Friends,

I write to inform you of my intentions to retire from active ministry in the priesthood within our Diocese.  At the recommendation of my doctor and the blessing of Bishop Foley and hopefully your prayers of affirmation, I plan on returning to Ireland in July, to spend my twilight years with my family in Dublin.

These past 12 years at St. Patrick's have been the jewel of my priesthood.  You have been such devoted friends -- so loving, so giving, so understanding.  I shall forever cherish such happy memories of our years together.

I have no idea of who my successor will be but I do know that God will send a good priest to continue shepherding you on to greater things for the Lord.

I just want you, my beloved friends, to know my plans before rumors run wild in the Diocese.

In the mean time, we must continue to enjoy our celebrations of fellowship.

One Blessed Pastor
Devotedly in the Lord,

[signed] Fr. Ray

Reverend Raymond J. Murrin, V.F.
