Ami is smart, yes, but don't make her too smart. She is between the ages of 14 to 16. She has a rather introverted personality: she is shy, quiet, and passive. She also is intimidated by those who don't really know her. Also, she has "booksmartitis", which means that she does some not smart things and says some stupid things. An example would be in the R movie, where she makes a comment that Mamoru is gay because of his relationship with Fiore. She also appears to have a problem with her self esteem. She is smart, but is continually studying because she is afraid of slipping behind and not being the best.DO NOT
- Make Ami a "study machine". Even though she does spend a lot of time studying, school and studying is NOT her life. That would be if she was in college ^_^.
- Make her super smart. She IS only sixteen or so: even Albert Einstein wasn't cracking the mysteries of physics at sixteen. So what if she's got an IQ of 300: she's STILL just a teenager.
- In other words: DON'T MAKE HER A GEEK!!! She is pretty, smart, and funny. I don't know of many geeks like that. Trust me, I am one.
PHRASES
Oooh, it just sounds so Christian and baptismal! Even though she usually just says this in the beginning of the series, according to my sources (and the fact that she doesn't say it in the movies I've seen), if she's facing a youma alone, she does need a speech.
- "I am the Pretty Sailor Suited Soldier of love and intelligence, Sailormercury! Douse yourself in water and repent!"
ATTACKS AND SUCH (the English Equivalent is in parenthesis. If there is no parenthesis, then it means that I haven't seen a translated version of the attack yet)
Sailormoon and early SailormoonR
Late SailormoonR and SailormoonS
- Mercury Power, Make-Up! (Mercury Power): Ami says this to turn into Sailormercury.
- Shabon Spray (Mercury Bubble Blast): A ball forms in front of Sailormercury, and she sends it at the enemy. It creates a blinding fog/foam soap mist (because shabon spray literally means "soap spray") in front of the enemy.
- Shabon Spray Freezing (Ice Bubble Blast): It's the same attack as Shabon Spray, but instead of causing fog, it causes anything it touches to turn to ice.
SailormoonSuperS and SailormoonStars
- Mercury Star Power, Make-Up! (Mercury Star Power): Ami says this to turn into Sailormercury.
- Shining Aqua Illusion (Shine Aqua Illusion): Sailormercury says this, and it appears as if a drop of water falls in a still pond. She takes the drop and turns, spraying the water around her and turning the area around her into ice.
Other Equipment/Gadgets
- Mercury Crystal Power, Make-Up! (Mercury Crystal Power!): You should know the drill by now: Ami says this to turn into SuperSailormercury. She grabs a hold of her henshin wand, her fingernails turn light blue, and from there it's the same transformation as before.
- Mercury Aqua Rhapsody: A small, blue, harp shaped symbol appears in her hand. She creates a larger blue harp, which she plays. The harp then streams out water and/or ice at its target. It also makes a harp-esque noise.

- Mercury's VR visor/goggles: Mercury presses her earrings, and some special blue goggles come down from her tiara. It's got a computerized output, and it helps her analyze situations and find people or enemies. In the manga, it also has a headset microphone
- Mercury's Pocket Computer: Another gadget that Mercury/Ami has that is disguised as either a make-up compact or a personal organizer, depending on how you look at it. Like the goggles, it is used to help her analyze situations.
- Mercury Aqua Harp: the harp that she uses to do her Aqua Rhapsody attack. It's useful to note that the harp is a type of lyre, and the Greek god Mercury (or is it the Roman god Mercury...i get the greek and roman names mixed up) was credited with creating the lyre.
