Here you will learn about my father's Royal Naval career during the 2nd World War. I decided to put together the ships he served on and adding personal anecdotes from his past service as a sailor.
There may be gaps, there might be slight inaccuracies, but it must be understood these memories are from events that happened 60 years or more ago, the mind is not as sharp as it was yesterday.
We hope that if you visit this site ,you will find the contents interesting, and realize the sacrifices these young men made to ensure the safety and the freedom we enjoy today.
This site is being constructed by Busters eldest son Richard

Please let me introduce myself.
I am Richard W Brown. The eldest son of Buster.
I served in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment from 1960 to 1967.
I live in the market town of Sandwich where my parents still live. I have 2 children Louisa and Peter.
I wanted to create this website to ensure the memories of my father were not lost forever.Fact based episodes are easy to find, but the real stories of those who were there are few and far between.
I hope I do justice to my fathers memories
Please sign my guestbook with any comments or reactions you have to my site. You can also contact me privately. I love to get mail!richardsandwich41@fsmail.net or at rtradoverbranch@yahoo.co.uk

If there is any crew who served on the ships with my father, or family members who have photo's , I would like very much to add them to this site. I know this site is dedicated to my father, but I feel that it is as well dedicated to all those young seamen, who served their country during the 2nd World War. They will be added sympathetically on the 'Memorial to Brave Men' page or the page pertaining to their ship.
