Materials:
Worsted weight yarn
Size F crochet hook
Insructions:
Make a chain of desired length, making sure the
number of stitches is a multiple of 2 plus 1.
Row 1: Insert hook in second ch from hook &
bring up a loop; do the same in the 3rd, 4th &
5th ch; yo & draw through all loops on hook, ch
1 to fasten (beg star st made). To make next star
st, insert hook in the fastening ch, the last loop
of previous star & the next 2 ch sts; fasten all
stars with 1 ch.
Row 2: Ch 1 (not counting fastening ch) turn; sc
in each "eye" & in top loops of each star.
Row 3: Ch 3 turn; bring up loop in second ch
from hook & next 3 sts, yo & draw through all
loops on hook; continue as in row 1.
Row 4: Repeat row 2
Row 5: Repeat row 3
Row 6: Repeat row 2 until the end of the row; DO
NOT TURN; continue with sc around
bookmark, working 3 sc in each corner; join
with a slst to first sc. Finish off.
