Materials:
#10 crochet cotton
steel crochet hook size 6 (for 6-inch ring, use size 2)
5-inch metal ring (can also use 6-inch ring)
metallic gold braid (or metallic thread, doubled) - 22" plus size needed for hanger
yarn or tapestry needle (for weaving braid or thread)
1/2-inch colored rhinestone (optional)
To make:
Ch 7, join with a slst in the first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 5, dc in ring, *ch 2, repeat from * 6 times, join in 3rd ch of ch 5.
Rnd 2: Ch 1; over each loop work 1 sc, 4 dc, 1 sc; join.
Rnd 3: *Ch 5, slst in back of work in between next 2 petals; repeat from * 7 times.
Rnd 4: Ch 1; over each loop work 1 sc, 6 dc 1 sc; join.
Rnd 5: *Ch 6, slst in back of work between next 2 petals;
repeat from * 7 times.
Rnd 6: Ch 1; in each loop work 1 sc, 7 dc, 1 sc; join. DO NOT END OFF!
Rnd 7: Slst to the center of next petal (the 4th dc); ch 1,
sc in same st; *ch 9, sc in 4th dc of next petal;
repeat from * 7 times; join.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in joining; *ch 5, trc in 5th ch of ch 9, ch 12,
slst in 7th ch from hook (picot made), ch 5, trc in same st, ch 5,
sc in next sc; ch 1, repeat from * around; join. Finish off.
Finishing:
Thread braid onto a needle (this makes it easier to work with). Weave braid
through the picots & around ring. Making sure your ends are even,
tie in a knot at the top of the ring.
Knot the ends of the braid together for hanger.
If desired, glue rhinestone to center of rose.
