Materials:
Worsted weight yarn
Size G crochet hook
Ponytail elastic
To make:
Rnd 1: Join yarn to elastic with a slst; ch 1, sc
around elastic
(making sure the number of sc is divisible by 3);
join with a slst to beg sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st as joining; *sk 2 sc,
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st (open shell);
repeat from * around; join with a slst to top ofch 3.
Rnd 3: Slst to first ch 2 loop; (ch 3, 4 dc in same loop), *sc in space
between shells on rnd 2, 5 dc in next loop;
repeat from * around; join as before.
Rnd 4: Ch 1; rsc (reverse sc) in each st around; join. Finish off.
To make:
Work rnds 1 & 2 as for Flower petal Scrunchie.
On rnd 3, replace 3rd dc of each shell with (ch 1,
sl st in loop on rnd 2, ch 1). Omit rnd 4.
