POST SCRIPT

After the closure of the Newfoundland Railways, 18 NF210s went to the meter-gauge Ferrocarril de Antofagasta a Bolivia (FCAB) in Chile.

Dynamic brakes and inertial filters have now been added and 11 of the units are now have Q-tron processors and 3 units have been upgraded to Dash 2 specifications.

Carlos D Bastias, Locomotive Workshop Manager kindly provided the photograph of FCAB 1420 (formerly 915). It was completely rebuilt in 1994.

FCAB has a fascinating website which includes 110 years of history in pictures.
