Numerology!
Numerology is the art of interpreting personalities, lifestyles, and destinies though the use of numbers and attributes assigned to those numbers.
The art of casting a numerological chart for someone is a lot easier than it might sound. You must first understand that there are different aspects of numerology. It's not only a person's name that is interpreted, but vowels, birthdates, and consonants to name but a few. By charting all aspects of numerology, a complete personal profile comes into view; as individual as the person it was cast for.
To begin a chart, you must first understand how it is made. A number is assigned to each letter of the alphabet, month, and astrological symbol (I will explain all numerological attributes in a moment). Those numbers are all added up and reduced down to a single number (or left as a double number if it happens to be 11 or 22). For example, let's look at my name...Rowan Sterling... According to the chart below...
R=9 O=6 W=5 A=1 N=5
S=1 T=2 E=5 R=9 L=3 I=9 N=5 G=7
9+6+5+1+5+1+2+5+9+3+9+5+7=67
6+7=13
1+3=4
...therefore, the number that should be interpreted for my name is "4". And remember, if the final two numbers result in an "11" or a "22", don't reduce them to a "2" or a "4". These two numbers are considered "higher" numbers and aren't reduced. (Don't ask my why, I just work here...)
As I said before, adding the numbers of a full name is only one of the interpretation tools for numerology. Let's take a look at the most common.
The Inner Self=added values of all vowels in your birth name. This is the name that appears exactly on your birth certificate. (no married names).
The Outer Self =added values of all letters in your birthname.
Your Present Self=added values of either your married name, nickname, or magickal name (or all of them if you choose).
Your Destiny=added value of your full birthdate.
Your Direction in Life=added value of your full birthdate and your astrological symbol.
Your Heart=added value of all the consonants in your birthname.
