This page was created in loving memory of Gabrielle Fink. Born February 22, 1997 at 12:40 AM. She died in my husbands arms two hours later.
We found out we were pregnant with Gabrielle two weeks before we were to be married. After trying for three years (and wanting a baby for five years), she was a dream come true. Everything in our world revolved around her. I was in love with her from the minute the pregnancy test came positive and all throughout my pregnancy.
23 weeks into the pregnancy I lost her to chorioamnionitis. I was forced to deliver or run the risk of going septic and losing my uterus or possibly my life. It was my life or hers but even if I would have chosen her life, she probably wouldn't have survived anyway. It was a difficult choice. I had been waiting for her for 5 years (since my daughter Meghan was born). Her father, sister, and I miss her very much and wish every day since she's been gone that things could have been different. Alas, they could not. I offer this picture of her to all (and of us, her loving parents and her big sister) who want to share in the joy I have for her. She looks just like her father except for her nose which is undeniably mine! Although you may not be able to see it, she has flaming red hair like her grandmother. I always wanted a redhead and I finally got one!!! That makes me very happy.
