Why pygmy goats? First, because they will help keep your pastures free of weeds and keep your trees trimmed up as high as they can reach. Second, their babies are an extra sourse of income, and most of them kid twice a year, usually twins and occasionally triplets. Third, and most important, because they are delightful! The adults are sweet and gentle, the babies hysterical as they run and buck and hop and cavort! They make wonderful pets! All my goats are raised with the miniature horses.
This is Petey, our former herd sire
No, he's not *dehorned.* He was born naturally hornless. Being hornless is a big bonus -- no horns to accidently poke some little horse in the belly and no messy, painful dehornings! He's siring about 70% hornless and about 85% females! He got too big so I had him neutered. Now, I have a grandson of his, also hornless and much smaller, who will be our new herd sire. Don't worry - Petey has a home here for life!
FOR SALE!
First time offered! This beautiful trio of young pygmies is now being offered for sale. The male is naturally hornless, a grandson of Petey and a full brother to my new herd sire. These boys are two of a set of QUADRUPLETS! All four of the babies were naturally hornless, so this little boy should sire lots of hornless kids. His two girl friends are twins sired by Petey. The carmel seems to be pregnant and already showing, the black is probably pregnant, too, but not as far along. They are reasonably tame, but would need some handling before they could be called "pets." I'm selling the trio for $200, and that's a heck of a buy!
Cute, aren't they? Email if you're interested in adding naturally hornless pygmy goats to your farm.
Meanwhile, here are some of the goats I've already sold!
These are *Pepsi's* twins.
Both girls, and both naturally hornless. The one on the right is a carmel, the one on the left is what I'm calling *golden dun.* I've never seen a goat her color before! She has the body color of a rich, dark palomino along with cocoa brown legs. Both of these girls are gorgeous! SORRY - BOTH ARE SOLD!
These belong to *Precious.*
The white girl is extremely friendly and would make a wonderful pet. She has horns, but is so sweet that no one will care. Her gray sister isn't tame yet, but is hornless. BOTH ARE SOLD.
These are *Powder's* twins.
Powder gave me almost identical pale gold babies, one boy, who has horns but who may carry the *hornless* gene, and one girl. They are both lovely babies. BOTH ARE SOLD.
