New Gotham
He's always here, messing me plans up. Well, Dark Claw old boy, you won't stop me tonight. The
costumed man began to laugh as he put on his trenchcoat and left his apartment.
New Gotham, 2 miles away
"Move it guys, Ms. Tique's waiting for us." commanded the man known as Major Avalanche. He
was the second in command of the Brotherhood. Then three people came out of the room; the thin woman with the power to see into the future was known as Clock Queen, behind her was a massively obese man who went by the name of Big Blob, and next to him was the Mighty Phantazia, the techno genius of the group.
They followed the Major into the van; as Big Blob stepped into the van, it began to strain as he was just too heavy.
"Blob, if you climb in here our mode of transport will be destroyed, so you will have to walk into New Gotham on your own, you know where to go." said Raven Tique as she sat in the front seat of the van.
"Okay Ms." He stepped off the van and began to walk. Raven turned to the others.
"As you know, Pyrofly left the Brotherhood of Injustice to become one of New Gotham's most
wanted. Well he's joining us again, whether he likes it or not." She smiled as the Major put his foot
on the pedal and the van sped off to New Gotham.
"Ms. Tique. I have just had a premonition about Pyrofly." said Clock Queen.
New Gotham, 20 minutes later
The Australian dressed in the sleek brown trenchcoat headed across the street to the bank. He
looked around in case Dark Claw was patrolling. No Dark Claw. As he made his way to the
doors of the bank, his hands seemed to set on fire, bursting through the doors he shouted. "LISTEN
UP, THIS IS A BANK ROBBERY, NOBODY MOVE AND NOBODY GETS HURT, YER
GOT THAT?"
The workers and customers hit the floor with their hands on their heads. The fire shot forth from his hands and melted the security glass.
"Right, which of you is the bank manager?" The robber asked.
"I-I-I am."
"Open the vault." commanded the robber.
"Y-Y-Yes. But p-please don't hurt me....I have a wife and two kids."
"Aw, you're pulling ma heart strings, GET ON WITH IT."
The bank manager walked over to the safe and began to type in the codes.
"Thank you, govn'r." The robber made his way in and began to put wads of dollars into two bags. He had cleared the safe. I've made it, and with no Dark Claw in sight, thought the robber. He ran out of the safe, then hit a hard object. The robber looked up to see the shadowed figure of the clawed crusader.
"Cripes. Don't you ever sleep?"
Dark Claw was silent, then the infamous 'SNIKT' sound came as he popped his adamantium claws. He was just about to strike when he heard a cry.
"HEEELLLPPP." He recognized the voice. It was Jubilation, AKA Sparrow, his teen sidekick. What was she doing here? He smacked the 'Fly in the face, knocking him out. Logan ran over to Sparrow to see four metamutants holding her.
"Get him, Phantazia." ordered Major Avalanche. As the Mighty Phantazia began to attack Dark Claw's neural system, Logan kept on running as he began to brawl with his attacker. The Major grabbed Sparrow as Big Blob began to run towards Dark Claw, his step making a huge thud.
"Come on, fat boy." said Logan as he dropped the KO'ed Phantazia to the ground. Logan leaped towards him, slashing him with his claws.
"HA HA HA. That tickles."
"What the--" Logan said as he felt the full impact of Big Blob's large fist. He was knocked back. Then Dark Claw heard something strange. Sparrow began to laugh as the Major released her. She walked over to him and kept on laughing as Big Blob held him up. She blasted Logan with her 'fireworks'. Logan opened his eyes as he shook off the blast, he blinked as Sparrow began to change. "...that smell....that voice.... it's you."
"I see you haven't lost your touch, Dark Claw."
"Still working for the Green Skull?"
"That bald headed conqueror? No. I have reformed the Brotherhood of Injustice. We're going to cause some major damage. Starting with you." She smiled. Phantazia was now awake again and began to pummel Dark Claw. Major Avalanche ran into the now empty bank and bought back the unconscious Pyrofly. Logan was getting weak, he couldn't battle Big Blob and the mental attacks of Phantazia. He collapsed as he saw the reformed Brotherhood walk off with the money.
Outside New Gotham
"We can't take our chances by staying in New Gotham. Dark Claw will track us down in an
hour or so." said Ms. Tique.
"He's awake." said Clock Queen.
"Ahhh. Hello, Pyrofly. Long time no see." said Ms. Tique as she bent over the now conscious metamutant.
"What....Ms. Tique...what are you doing?..." He tried to get up.
"Ahh Ahh, don't try anything." He sat down again.
"What yer want with me again?"
"Simple, Pyro. You're re-joining the Brotherhood."
"Don't I get a say, woman?" said Pyrofly.
"No you don't, and if you do not comply with us, you will be executed."
"Looks like I don't got a choice. What's yer plan?"
"I want the JLX defeated and my children back in my arms." She began to smile.
Manhattan, X-Mansion
The metamutants known as JLX are busy celebrating the millennium. Mr. X stares out of the
window, looking up to the skies as he thinks of his deceased family. Apollo and Firebird sit hugging
each other on the sofa, drinking wine. The smell of brimstone fills the air as Kurt Ryder teleports
into the room.
"Hi guys. Say, where is Ice Maiden?"
"Ice is in the kitchen." said Apollo. Nightcreeper teleported away. Ray turned to Bea with a smile. "I think Kurt needs to take a bath again." they laugh as Todd and Runaway walk into the room. Apollo brings out a bottle of champagne for them.
"Merci, mon ami." said Wraith as he turns to Runaway. "Hey petit, you giv' the Cajun a new year kiss?"
"Sugah. Yer know I can't make physical contact." Todd was disappointed, but he knew she couldn't kiss him; he just forgot. Kurt and Ice walk in. The green skinned teleporter had a grin on his face. As he began to speak, the mansion started to shake.
"Oh sorry, I shouldn't have eaten all those Doritos."
"This is not the time for jokes, Kurt." said Mr. X grimly as the mansion still shook.
"Earthquake?" asked Apollo.
"It's only happening in the mansion." said Firebird.
Then the wall of the lounge shattered as an immensely obese man stood amongst the rubble.
"Stand guard, JLX." ordered Mr. X. The group began to power up as more people appeared.
"Raven." cried Runaway and Nightcreeper. They turned and looked at each other.
"I have come for you my children, I want you to be at my side in the Brotherhood."
"I told ya, Ms. Tique. I'm with the JLX now."
"Ditto for me, Mom."
"That's too bad, then. Brotherhood, attack! If you won't join me because of the JLX, I will simply destroy them." Big Blob, Pyrofly and Mighty Phantazia began to battle Mr. X and his group.
Pyrofly faced off against Apollo, Blob fought Ice and Wraith, and Phantazia attacked Runaway and Nightcreeper's minds to weaken them. Mr. X went up against Ms. Tique as she shape-shifted into Thorion and smacked him with her hammer. He hurtled into the wall. Big Blob had defeated Ice. Runaway and Kurt were now weakened. Major Avalanche sent a seismic tremor to the remaining JLXers. As he picked up Runaway and put her over his shoulder, Wraith shouted "NOOOOOOO", but he was thrown into the air from the impact of the tremor. Kurt gathered what concentration he had and tried to teleport Runaway away, but he was knocked out by Big Blob, who picked him up and carried him away as the Brotherhood left the mansion. Ms. Tique stopped and said "Happy New Year."
