The mysterious shifting sands in Serengeti National Park.
This pile of sand originally came from a volcano eons ago.
The mystery is how the pile stays intact while being blown about the Serengeti Plain.
Normal sand would have dispersed long ago.
Scientists have been studying this phenomenon for years and,
as far as I know, haven't come up with an answer.
The pile can be hard to find, but we got lost and managed to find two piles!
