| * last week: "Greetings from
Tucson" |
NUMBER CRUNCHING:
After last week's awful performance of
"Greetings from Tucson", the WB made an eleventh hour switch
in order to get more mileage out of Penn Badgley's appearance on
"What I Like About You", as "Do Over" showed a new
episode in "Tucson"'s time slot. But there was no appreciable
improvement on either side of the fence, despite a .1 gain over
"Tucson". Hard to say the "Do Over" leadout was a
factor, but "Reba" hasn't had a rating this low in quite some
time. (The regular "Do Over" only mustered a 1.3, but the
anomalous "Reba" number might not tempt the WB into shuttling
"Do Over" full time there.)
The day these finals came out, we were soberly
reminded of how the WB values shows like "What I Like About
You" with its female teen ratings scores doing so well...the
network's Wednesday comic-book adaptation "Birds of Prey",
that the previous week only captured 8% of the teen audience, was
cancelled.
