NUMBER CRUNCHING:
It was a week of surprises all around on the Friday schedule. The
most encouraging sign is that among the seven repeat airings of WB
comedies this week, "What I Like About You" was eclipsed only
by "Reba". The experiment with "Do Over" following
"What I Like About You" seems not to have worked, and it looks
like that might not be a good permanent move. (Maybe the WB can air
"WILAY" one Thursday in December just for the heck of it to
see how it'd do there). WILAY has the least fall-off, ratings-wise, from
last week's new episode.
Can't really tell if it's WILAY at work, or if
it's just how the ratings for hour shows naturally fall, but according
to Variety's charts, every hour show on Friday at 8PM typically has its
lower rating in the first half hour than the second.
