NUMBER CRUNCHING:
With all
six networks back in the entertainment biz this past Friday, "What
I Like About You" held last week's number, and "Reba" had
an unnaturally low number for a firstrun episode at 9PM, with a 2.8
(just .1 higher than its all time low firstrun rating). "Grounded
for Life" continues to score for the Frog. Elsewhere, NBC hit it
big with "America's Most Talented Kid". It'll have another
airing before being bumped next week for Leeza Gibbons' "Test the
Nation".
This is an all-important week coming up for
"What I Like About You", with its only chance to make any
ratings noise before the 2003-2004 schedules are concocted. What's
working for it is that the WB is using "WILAY" as a
cross-promotion to a new movie Warner Bros. is releasing that day.
What's working against it is the movie stars Amanda Bynes, and Amanda
fans who can't wait to see the film (who haven't already gone to the
sneak preview) will likely go Friday night, and that could cut into
Amanda's TV ratings.
