Season
Two Background
The success of Season one of "What I Like About
You", compared to what had come before, led the WB to
renew the series on May 13, 2003. It was the only one of the
WB's four new 2002-2003 sitcoms to get a second year, and
avoided cancellation in a year where five of the network's
sitcoms bit the dust -- "Sabrina", "Off Centre",
"Family Affair", "Do Over" and
"Greetings from Tucson". The series, which had
scored points for its marvelous young female demographics and
surging male numbers (due to the WB's positioning of Amanda
Bynes as a teen babe-in-waiting), looks to advance one or more
featured players to full regular status.
The biggest change for WILAY in
Season Two will be night and time. It becomes the Thursday
tentpole, at 9PM, leading out of the slowly-building
"Jamie Kennedy Experiment". And the competition is
headier then ever before, including a show that's been in the
top five nearly all season long: CBS' "CSI".
