In a post on a website, someone called
India Kate gave the standard line on Female Foeticide, of course blaming

. Sumanth has meanwhile squarely blamed the feminists for foeticide:

But let us go back and find out why parents are preferring a male child
. There are two reasons: one is fear and the other is responsibilities.
Let us look at the scare portion first.
Feminists have peddled the propaganda line that women will have a tough
life because:
- they are being raped. The reality is that guy runs twice the risk
of being falsely accused of rape that a woman runs of actually being
raped. According to the Delhi Police (published in The-week), 241
out of 358 alleged rape cases are cases of elopement;
- they are being driven to suicide in marriages. The reality is that
the suicide rate for married men is 50% higher than for unmarried
men, while it remains the same for women after marriage . So this

- crimes against women are making it unsafe for women. In reality,
2-3 times more men are victims of violence than women . Also, again,
we are not including the crime of false accusation, which is very
commonly associated with anti-violence laws. And, of course, some
them are crimes such as adultery, which should be equal in number.
But, since only men are defined as criminals, they don't show up as
crimes against men;
- they cannot take care of themselves, hence they need alimony and
a lifestyle-subsidy from either their father or brother or husband;
- that life is tough for women . In reality, it is equally tough for
men;
- 80% of women are abused by their husbands (Shabana Azmi said this)
. In reality, only God knows, but I haven't observed this, unless
criticising the girl's parents, her dress sense, etc. is included
-- in which case, it is 100%.
These scare-tactics make parents not want to
have a girl child.
Next, let us look at responsibilities
- A boy is supposed to, and forced by law to take responsibility for
his parents;
- Society also want the boy to take responsibility for the family;
- Society and the law do not expect the girl to take any responsibility;
- Who will not want to have responsible child ?
If you want the female foeticide to stop:
- Abolish the alimony laws. In this country, each woman has the capability
to realise her true potential. Also, it will force parents to invest
in making women independent, rather than depending on some male to
provide for her;
- Make the girl responsible by law for providing for the parents equally
under CRPC section 125 -- i.e. all the children should be automatically
made responsible under CRPC 125.
Also, if you want to increase male foeticide:
Please inform parents the following:
- your son is twice as likely to be falsely accused of rape as your
daughter is of actually getting raped
- your son's marrying carries a 2% chance of your spending a few days
in jail and it is increasing; ( In India parents are typically jailed
if a daughter-in-law does not get along well with her husband . To

- your son's marrying can lead to your life savings being sucked out
to pay a blackmailing daughter-in-law, and you will not have laws
to shield or protect you
But, if the feminist stop their scare-mongering, then foeticide will
stop
Why did we have a high sex ratio of girls to boys in the early 1900s
(which is now coming down)? It is correlated to feminist scare tactics
and trying to absolve women of all responsibility. After all, who wants
to give birth to someone who will suffer and who will not take responsibility?
It is a natural reaction to the the scare-mongering
of the feminists.
