Mender studies is the study of gender from men's point of view
Currently women have done a lot of wondering -- it is time for men
to do some mending of the damage that has been done due to this wondering.
We are not able to get statistics since the police are refusing to
part with any information . Men committing suicide seems to increase
by 50% after marriage . Also the rate of suicide for divorcing men is
167 per 100000 which is I believe is higher than even Australia. The
Police refuse to accept false accusation complaints under section 211
of the Indian penal code. Even though most of the men in our organisation
have clear proof of where all the money for buying the stuff came from,
the Police want to believe the women that the man harassed for dowry.
Ninety percent of the dowry and mental harassment cases are false.
It has become a big business for the girl's family to treat every suicide
and death as a harassment and extract money. Their uncorroborated statement
that he demanded a dowry is accepted.
Every divorce case becomes a dowry harassment case, so that the man
is left to fight a criminal case and cannot fight the divorce cases
properly, for fear that anything untoward can be taken in some wrong
spirit.
I fact, I am writing a book called "Patterns Of Innocence"
which will help the deaf and dumb police and judiciary to understand
how the cases can be quashed without going through trial .
I was a dupe and actually courted arrest by demonstrating for women
who had seemingly been harassed for a dowry. I still remember guys saying,
"Hey look at my receipts for all the household goods ! I paid for
it !" And the women and the crowd only shouted slogans.
Well, God has punished me for for harassing these innocent men and
their elderly families.
