I am Marcus Roland Richie, my father was Ollie Beecher Richie, his father was Grover Hendrix Richie, his father was Marcus Roland Richie, and his father was Henry Harrison Richie. Marcus Roland Richie was the youngest son of Henry Harrison Richie and not Robert Richie as claimed by some sources. The final push into doing this research came from my uncle James Finley Richie with an e-mail he sent me back in 1999.
I am building this web site as a tribute to and dedicated to the memory of Henry Harrison Richey, and his sons Andrew Jackson Richey, and Taylor Richey. As well as being a tribute to all the soldiers of Company D, 1st Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles in all of it's various names, and 3rd Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles in all of it's various names, Confederate States Army. Henry Harrison Richey, (Henry H. Richey), (H. H. Richey) and his son Taylor Richey served with pride as Confederate Soldiers in John B. Holladay's Company, Orville G. Cameron's Battalion; also known as Company D, 1st Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles,(Cavalry) Confederate States Army from 22 October 1861 to 22 November 1862. Henry Harrison Richey (H. H. Richey) and his eldest son Andrew Jackson Richey (A. J. Richey) served with pride in Ezekiel Field Clay's Battalion; also known as 3rd Battalion Kentucky Mounted Rifles, (Cavalry) Confederate States Army; also known as 1st Battalion, Kentucky Mounted Rifles; also known as 1st Kentucky Battalion from November 1862 to 1 May 1865. Confused!!! Yes!!! Then by the time you finish studying this site I hope not, I went thru the terrible headache of researching and verifying of the information on this Web Site so you do not have to. I will do my best to help you to understand. By showing you the sources that have brought me to this point. I will show you how I found the Sources, I have provided links to their Web Sites, E-Mails or given their Snail Mail Address's. Please do not take my word for it, examine My Site, the Sources, and follow the Links, then let us see if we come to the same conclusion. This web site will be in a perpetual State of renovation as new sources are acquired, verified, and posted. This is my E-Mail Address : mrrichie@coastalnow.net |
