The Rogues Gallery. We are proud and honoured to introduce you to some of the talented writers, artists, photographers and designers we have worked with to produce the books and magazines featured at this site.Where possible we will provide links for you to contact them directly and information of where you can read more of their work. If there is no entry next to the name call back later, we are updating this file regularly. ALLEN MARK JOHN AMEUR-ZAIMECHE DIANA was born in Brighton, Sussex . She trained as a registered nurse in Coventry. She took a postgraduate course in Oncology at the Royal Marsden, London. She has worked in Paris, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, U.A.E., Oman, Bahrain and Nice. She has made her home in Cyprus where she lives in a small house called Arcadia. She has specialised in Cancer Nursing. She has been writing since she was at school. Whilst working in Oman the country and people prompted her to write both articles and poetry about them. She has been published in The Observer and the English language Omani daily newspapers. Her ambition is to keep writing, keep her hands and mind busy and hopefully one-day to retire to Cyprus to enjoy her house and garden. ANG ARLENE ARNOTT MARION is a Scots writer who has been published in a variety of small press magazines both north and south of the border. Writes short stories becasue she admires the form, not because she doesn't have time for a novel; admires small press editors because they like short stories too; also likes brass bands, ginger kittens, and Italian food. Hates writing biographical notes. AIDAN BAKER is a writer and musician based in Toronto, Canada. I have had writing published internationally in such magazines as Dream People, WineDark Sea, and Dreams & Nightmares BAKER JP BAXTER TONY has a full time job
in the health service and three young children who don't appear to need
sleep. This makes writing a slow process. He lives in Doncaster.
BEDFORD MICHAEL was born in 1957 and raised in Wakefield. He currently lives in Sheffield. He has been writing for a number of years but has only recently started submitting to magazines and getting published. His work has appeared Acumen, The Affectionate Punch, Breakfast All Day, Candelabrum and a variety of other magazines. He writes poetry because he has to. BEEHO STEVE BENNETT NANCY BERNARD DANNY was born in Birmingham,UK and trained at Bretton Hall College of Performing Arts where he began writing whilst in his final year of a performing arts degree. Since graduating he has worked both as an actor and a lecturer in communication studies in order to fund his writing. As well as writing short stories, fiction and poetry, he has had published several articles and has an interest in scriptwriting for radio, theatre and television. "Double Shifts" (Voyage # 4)is one of Danny's first short stories and was written on a train journey from Birmingham to Edinburgh. BOLDEN RAUF is a Black American born in Colorado in 1949. He studied languages at University where he became a polygot speaking German, French and Dutch. As a yachtmaster, he spent twenty years sailing over 100,000 nautical miles while circumnavigating the planet with his wife Jannette Dean, an internationally known sailor and writer. They were arrested by Her Majesty'' Customs in the English Channel in 1996 with two tonnes of cannabis resin onboard their 52 foot sailing ''Battlestar'' Both are serving nine years''imprisonment; studying with the Open University; working daily in the gym; and writing short stories. When released, they plan to sail around the world again being very much in love while continuing to write fiction and feature articles. Their motto is: "Never Ever Give Up". BRECKELL JAKI is 35 and lives in North Wales. She works in accounts. She has lived with Martyn for the last 10 years and has invested in cats rather than kids. She enjoys writing poetry, making noises on a guitar and plans to get fit. Then returns to reality. Her cats names are Fudge, Cariad and Pepper. BRICE JENNIFER BROWN SEAN was born in Dublin in
1960. He has been writing features and short stories for about 12 years.
His work has appeared in The Word, Sunday Magazine, Discovery and many
more.
BUBURUZ CATHY is a Canadian writer who has recently had horror stories published in Dark Fantasy Newsletter (UK), Northern Fusion (Canada), and Flesh and Blood Magazine (USA). Over the years she has worked on a collection of illustrated poems and horror stories titled "Capturing the Morbidity". The majority of Cathy's stories focus on the horrors of childhood and these impact on our lives as adults, but she has used a variety of subjects to gain an audience. She's has written about futuristic pregnancies, the treatment of criminals in the far future, advanced communications, Roman Catholicism, the supernatural, and the bizarre. Cathy also works as an artist, has illustrated on assignment for such magazines as Dark Regions & Horror Magazine (USA), Engimatic Tales (UK), Prisoners of the Night (USA), Tales of the Unanticipated (USA), and Challenging Destiny (Canada). Her art has graced the covers of Nasty Piece of work (UK), Space & Time (USA), and The Twilight Garden (USA). Enigmatic Tales (UK) have published some of Cathy's illustrations on their website. She says she has gained an education, great satisfaction in her craft, and on-going friendships by creating art collaborations with Bob Crouch, Marge B. Simon, Charles S. Fallis, Randy Nakoneshny, her daughter Tyra, and others. When she is not writing, in her spare time she reads a great many books and magazines, grows exotic plants, plays keno slot machines at Casino Regina, and designs poster and t-shirt art for Canada's Cajun band "Louisiana Jane". Her goals are to be published in every country on the planet and to win a jackpot in Las Vegas - not necessarily in that order. CAFFREY IDRIS CALAME-BRUCE MARCIA is called the 'Rebel of Poetry'. She has been living in Birmingham for a number of years but previously she lived in Wolverhampton. She has got qualifications in English Literature and English Language and later joined a Poetry Performance Group, this was when she took her writing seriously. Through this group she had performed at the Readers and Writers Festival and the Library Theatre in Birmingham. She is a full time mother. CATES JEFF lives in Visalia California, USA. he is a regular contributor to various small press and mainstream magazines on both sides of the Atlantic and teaches sports to local kids groups. Tales from the Rooks Branch Tavern will be a regular feature in Colonies SF Magazine CHAMBERS RH CHATTERTON-ROSS SONIA was born in North London but moved to Buckinghamshire with her husband. She is 37 years old. She has worked as a temp, dental nurse and library assistant. Currently she is working for OXFAM as a gardener. CRILLEY PAUL was born in Scotland and currently lives in South Africa. His stories have appeared in Twighlight Times and Fantasy Folklore and Fairytales. DAS UTPAL is an Indian unmarried male, graduate in commerce who finally took the plunge as a freelance writer a year ago. In his early career he taught school students as private tutor. Although an avid reader, he is a newcomer to writing. He is at present working a government-aided school as an office clerk. He lives with his unmarried sister and widowed mother in New Delhi. Any spare time is spent reading and he particularly enjoys writing short stories and articles. He is going to try his level best to fulfil his ambition to become a better writer and perhaps one day even earn money doing so. DALEY TERRY DE LA MARE JON is an American citizen born and raised in Honduras where his father worked. He loves exploring the parts of Central/South America that few Westerners have seen and has been on 3 expeditions to the Venezuelan Tepui - though he still hasn't found Jimmy Angel's river of gold. He writes travel and adventure features for various US newspapers and magazines. DOLAN LITA DUNBAR ROBERT has been published widely in Britain and America, including Shapeshifter, Evernight, 2 A.M., The Scream Factory, Midnight Graffiti, After Hours Afraid, The Blood Review, The Nightmare Express and Dark Side. His is co-author of Bats (a comedy/horror play) with Emmy Award winner Karen Scioli. He is also an accomplished Playwright. This is the first of several pieces which will be appearing in Voyage in the coming months. He lives in Philadelphia, USA. DUNLOP CALLUM DUNNE JOHN EGAN ANN is a poet and historian living in County Kildare, Ireland where is current Writer in School. In the UK her work has appeared in Apostrophe, Dandelion, Envoi, First Time, For Poets, Iota, Laternal Moves, Linkway, Merseyside Arts Monthly, New Welsh Review, Orbis, Peace and Freedom, Poetry Monthly, Poetry Nottingham International, Quantum Leap, South, Staple, The Poet's Voice, This Is and Voyage. During 1998 she appeared on the winners list in the Alpha, BCm, so The Child May Live, Mary & Alfred Wilkins Memorial, Shrewsbury and a Writers' News (Nairn) competitions. EGAN JOHN spent many years travelling the world in the Merchant Navy. He has now settled in Germany where he spends his time developing his writing skills. He has been published widely in the independent press and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular short story writers of our time. FAULKNER IAN lives in Willenhall in the West Midlands,UK where he is an active Trekkie regularly attending conventions as a Klingon warrior. He has been writing short stories for several years. He contributes articles to several newspapers.
FINCHAM SUE is a writer, poet and
counsellor who lives within sight of the sea. She has had a number
of successes with poetry and short stories and won prozes in national competitions
but still awaits the acceptance of a novel.
FIRTH MATTHEW was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1965. He is the United Kingdom editor of the transatlantic fiction magazine Front&Centre and the author of Fresh Meat, a collection of 19 short stories published in October 1997 by Rush Hour Revisions. He is also a regular contributor of Zene, a British small press review. FRANCIS CLIVE used to be a professional musician but now makes a living in the culturally deprived world of software engineering. He has published a number of short stories and poems in local magazines. Buoyed up by success in a chort story competition, he embarked on his first novel, which is nearing completion. He would like to escape from the world of computers and become a full time writer. FULWOOD NEIL was born in Nottingham in 1972. He is the son of a haulier. He is a member of the Nottingham Writers' Club and until recently served as Secretary. Although very new to writing fiction he has been published as a poet in Poetry Nottingham International, Other Poetry, Iota, Links, Psychopoetica, Poetry Monthly and Scribe, amongst others. He has two small self-published collections out: Velvet Darkness and Rhyme and Punishment. His hobbies include photography, cinema and hard rock/heavy metal. GREHAN SHARON HACKETT CLARICE has been writing poems and stories for longer htan most of us have been alive. She has lived all her life in Blackheath and spent many years working as a market trader. She has had a number of stories, poems and features published in other magazines and papers. HAUPT CHATAL GEORGINE is a mother of three from Geoppingen in Germany, though she was born in Set, France. She spent two years in Turkey. She has been published in the French mag Croquant as well as several British mags. With husband Dieter she helps refugees and is putting a play with a cast whose origins range from Togo to Vietnam. HENDERSON BRENDA HENDERSON NEIL K. was born in 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland, where he still lives. He is the son of artist and illustrator Harry Keir (hence the Middle K. in his name). He has been writing mainly humours material in a variety of forms from school and student days, and began submitting to the Independent Press scene in 1987 - many of his stories, poems and uncategorisable articles having been published in a wide range of magazines from photocopied fanzines through to national literary journals. (His LOVEABLE WARTS: A DEFENCE OF SELF-INDULGENCE recently appeared in Chapman 87). Two of his poems were included in the Photon Press MYSTERY OF THE CITY anthology (£1.50 'Photon Press', 37 The Meadows, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England, TD15 1NY). and his nonsence ballad MALDEHYDE'S DISCOMFITURE, or A LADY CHURNED is available as a 20-page booklet from Pentagraph Press (£2.00 'Sean R. Friend', PO Box 2757, Brighton, East Sussex, England, BN2 1NT). His collection of spoof detective stories (with collaboration from Ken Cheslin) HORMONES A-GO-GO is looking for a new publisher! In an attempt to raise his individual brand of hack writing to the level of an art form, he inadvertently became an exponent of the 'hard-boiled, scraped-off, wrapped-up, put in the fridge and fried for lunch tomorrow' school of writing. However, having spectacularly failed to get any of his Ovaltine-induced nightmares sponsored by the National Lottery (or even nearly investigated by the World Health Organisation), Have-A-Go Henderson now sees his mission as the subtle reintroduction of cartoon-strip fun particles into reality before it's too late. HETTMANNSPERGER III DAN lives in
California. His poems, whoch have appeared in a number of US magazines,
cover a wide variety of topics and styles.
HEYWORTH CJ was born in Blackpool in 1946 and still lives there with his wife, Anne, though he has travelled extensively in the interim. Two minor strokes in recent years have been sharp reminders of 'Time's winged chariot hurring near', resulting in an out pouring of poetry for publication, writing of various sorts having occupied much of his life as a teacher, systems analyst, insurance advisor, telephone salesman, legal clerk and, presently, EFL tutor in English on the Internet. HIRST JOHN HODGES NORTON HOLLINS RICHARD HOLMAN KRIS HUGHES GWYNETH lives in Paris. She has had stories and poems published in numerous British magazines. Several of her stage plays have been produced professionally in the United States, notably in New York City HUGHES STUART has been writing fiction for many years. He is the publisher of three time British Fantasy Award winning Independent magazine Peeping Tom. He lives in Belper, Derbyshire. HYLAND JOHN is from Dublin.
He has been writing stories and features for magazines in Britain, Ireland,
USA, Hong Kong and Australia for the last ten years. "The great thrill

the undisputed masters of psychological horror for the last ten years.
It would be quicker to tell you the magazines he hasn't been published
in - but I can't think of one. He has recently launched his own website

is linked the British Fantasy Society's webring. He lives in Essex.
LLOYD KYM-V lives in Heronsgate. She has had a number of poems accepted in the new literary magazine 'This is...' and is currently working on her second novel LOGAN SIMON began submitting his work recently with work that he has built up over the past few years, in the last six months he has been accepted for publication sixteen times in twelve different magazines - Nasty Piece of Work, The Dream Zone (three times), Sci-Fright, The asphalt Jungle (now defunct), Monas Hieroglyphical, Dead Things, Unhinged (three times), Roadwords, Unsane, Voyage, Enigmatic Tales and Passenger Pigeons. He has also had seven poems accepted by Monomyth, Nasty Piece of Work, Glasshouse Electric and Voice and Verse and two electronic acceptance from Enigmatic Electronic and House of Pain. In September, his novella 'The Ballad Of Alice Spunkney' was published by www.stongarden.net. LYONS WHITNEY is an independent woman residing in Ohio. She use to communicate by writing due to speech impairment. She soon realised that it is a gift that touches and heals the soul. MCDONALD PAUL teaches English and American studies at the University of Wolverhampton. He has published critical and creative work in many periods both in Europe and the States. His first collection The Right Suggestion has just been published in the Flarestack 'talent to burn' series. He is the winner of the Ottaker's Poetry Competition 1998. Paul has also given papers on various literary topics in England, Holland, Finland and America. He also reviews for, among others, Poetry Quarterly Review and The Birmingham Post. MACFARLANE WILLIAM MACNEIL NEIL was born in Greenock. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals in the UK. Some of these include Outposts, The Scotsman, Chapman, Orbis, Skylark, Poetry Now, Envoi and Poetry Scotland. He won the 1974 Alice Gregory Memorial Prize with The Catcha Buzz Blues. 1989 Scottish International Open Poetry Competition. He founded and co-edited the Strath Poetry Quarterly and was guest editor of Poetry Now for the August 1998 issue. His poems have appeared in 12 anthologies including After the Water Gore (SCP 1998) and he has poems accepted for 3 anthologies due to appear in 1999. Neil is available for readings, talks, seminars and adjudications. He has held creative writing tutor posts with WEA, Cumbernauld Writers Group and Clackmannan College. MARKLEY CHRIS is the pen name of Dr Mark Leyland who lives in Bristol. MARSDEN ROD was born in Sydney, NSW, Australia in 1957 to working class parents with a passion for the sea. Some of this passion was passed on to their children including Rod. He grew up in Iluka a small fishing village in NSW. He has a BA in Liberal Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Sydney. He works a a civilian clerk for the Navy. He has several articles published in the small press. MASON NEIL MAYE PD is 60 years old and married. He hwas born in Ireland, but has lived in England since abut 1956. He spent some time in York, then Oxford and finally Devon which has been his home for approximately 30 years. Most of his life has been spent as a self-employed HGV driver but following a heart attack in 1991 the a By Pass he had to give it up. To keep his mind occupied he took up writing about things, places and characters from an earlier and possibly more earth-connected time. He has had a story read on local radio and one book called Enchanted Land. Which is available in his local library.

She has had a number of poems published in various magazines including Helicon Poetry magazine, The Rialto, Oxford Poetry and Rustic Rub MUFFAZ AM MURRAY ELAINE is originally from London but has lived in Stafford for many years. She is married with three children and has been a Lecturer in English, a murse, computer programmers, cleaner and receptionist for a canal cruising company. Her previous publication success has been with poetry. He ambition is to become a full time writer. NADJARIAN NORA teaches French and German at a private school in Limassol, Cyprus. she enjoys dabbling in journalism, art, amateur dramatics and photography. she has had several poems published, most recently one of them appeared in the Shrewsbury Poets anthology. O'CALLAGHAN JOAN O'CONNOR TOMMY FRANK is a native of Co. Kerr, Ireland where he runs his own accountancy proctise in Tralee. PATON JULIE PARKER MIKE was born in 1958. He lives in Brighton, Sussex with his wife and three children. His poetry has appeared in RIALTO, ENVOI, POETRY NOTTINGHAM, POETRY MONTHLY, ABRAXAS, CORPSES AND CLARINETS, UNDER SURVEILLANCE, SKYLARK, IOTA, FIRST TIME, HAIKU MONTHLY, NAVIS, AT LAST, PEER POETRY, QUANTUM LEAP, LINKWAY, STILL, AaBYE, THE LUCID STONE PEMBERTON JACQUELINE is a college lecturer from Kivington, near Wigan. She has previously been published in a number of UK magazines, including Poetry Review. She has also been published in the Ashton Writer's Circle anthology, being a member of that group and having won their writer's trophy last year. PERRY VERONICA has had three romantic novels published by Hamlyn in the eighties and other by Robert Hale who also published one of her thrillers. since then she had divided her time between writing and painting. Her short stories appeare from time to time in the small press. Recently one of her thrillers was accepted for inclusion in the Download Bookstore on the Internet. She says, "I'm not sure what it means - nor if it was a wise thing to do. Time will tell." She lives in Dorset. PHILLIPS RON is a lecturer and writer who lives in Derby. He is the author of The Risk Business (Dragonheart Press 1989). He has just returned to poetry after a break in which he completed a novel. He won the Voyage International Poetry competition 1999 and has opted to have his novel "Visions of Johanna" published as part of his prize. PILKINGTON-EDWARDS DEE POLLICK MICHAEL POTTS MIKEL POULTER DAVID REEVE RICHARD lives in Norfolk now but has lived and tutored in Tangier and Spain for several years. He has had a book published, Junk Jungle, which was also turned into Braille. He has had several poems, short stories and articles published in various magazines. He has also had a short story read out on Radio 4. RICHARDS WAYNE DEAN lives in Oldbury and chairs the Spouting Forth Poetry Group in Langley. He has been published in a number of small press magzines and is actively involved with many literary events in the Midlands.
RUSSELL FRIEND SEAN is the bone-cracking author of over forty novels, including Facing North, King of the States and Wolf Across the World which can usually be found in jumble sales or sharity shops! He has also written many volumes of poetry, including Poet at the Virgin's Feet, which, ironically, is still in print! Not only that, but he also has to his credit a wealth of radio and stage plays, television scripts, articles, reviews, and some pieces that completely defy categorisation. When he isn't writing, Doctor Friend can mainly be found on horseback or with his wolfish head buried in a book by Storm Constantine. RYAN ORAN SAUNDERS TOM began writing while taking an English degree at Kingston Polytechnic. In '86/'87 he did the MA in creative writing at UEA. Since then he has had short stories published in Inshed, Acclaim and Panurge. He was a finalist in the 1995 In St James Awards and his short story was published in the collection pleasure VESSELS (Angela Royal Publishing). He was runner-up in the 1997's STAND story competition. SHEPPARD VIC lives in Irchester, Northants. He writes widely for the small press. SHONFIELD DAVID was brought up and educated in South East London. He served 36 years with the Metropolitan Police Civil Staff before taking ealy retirement in August 1995. He now combines his writing (mainly short stories and poems) with working part time as a security officer. He has been married for 31 years and has two daughters. His ambition is to have his novel 'The Stakeholders' published. His favourtie author is Brian Moore, who died recently, and he admires the humour of Nancy Banks-Smith of the Guardian - his daily newspaper since he left school. He has had articles published in History To-Day, The Best of British twice and Yours. SNEYD STEVE was born in 1941 in Maidenhead, England. Courtesy of an English father and an American mother, his childhood was spent both in England and the United States, the frequent moves providing him with an outsider's perspective of these two cultures often more separated than united by a common language. In addition to his own work, he has supported genre poetry in general, compiling numerous lists of SF/F/H poems in publications genre, non-genre and fannish. SPOFFORD KATIE STEVENS GEOFF was born in the Black
Country in 1942. he has been interested in art from an early age.
But it was writing that saw him branch out from his occupation as an Industrial
Chemist, first writing features and then as a poet. He is the editor
of Purple Patch magazine and Micropress Midlands Poetry, he is also the
UK editor of American Literary magazine, Slugfest.
STEWART RICHARD STONE DEVORAH lives in Richmond, British Columbia where she writes short stories for various small press and commercial magazines. She is one of a growing list of writers who adhere to our belief that writers should treat the whole world as a single market. started writing fiction three years ago. His original and highly-praised
stories have appeared in various magazines and he was one of the winners
of the 1997 Ian St. James Award. He adapted four of his stories into
the screenplacy STREETS, a film under option with London-based Studio Production
Services. He is currently working on a new screenplay based on CHEATS.
He says, "I just need about £60,000 for the film!"
TWIGG MALCOLM
VAN BELLE PETER was born in Sint-Niklass in 1966. He works as a clerk in Antwerp. He has had poems and short stories published in Britain, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. VERNON BILL VOICE IAN splits his time between in home in the Midlands and 'some of the more exotic parts of the globe' he visits as an exploration geologist. He writes short stories and letters during the long nights away from home. "Most of my stories are based on people and places I've worked, so hopefully nobody will recognise themselves and sue me." WALKER CHERYL WARD CHRISSIE was born in new Zealand and recently returned to live there after 23 years in Britain. Her stories have appeared in UK magazines and collections, and one was broadcast on BBC local radio. In the past year she has had several stories accepted by Australian magazines and one by Radio New Zealand. WASTLING CLINTON lives and work in the East Riding district of Yorkshire. He has had recent stories published in 'The Third Alternative', 'Staple', and 'Psycholotrope'. An anthology of his published stories called 'Rituals', came out in January, 199 from Ibis Press. WHITE SHEILA WHITEHEAD TONY WINWOOD DAVID WOODHAMS KEITH WYATT WAYNE lives in Birmingham
and has been a photographer for 25 years.
