    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Editorial
We've been struggling with various ways to bring you more information
in each newsletter for the past nine months. We have increased the frequency,
increased the size and even put out two part newsletters
but none of these solutions have been acceptible.  The main problem
being that bandwidth and paramaters of various email programmes and
servers varies and so every time we step outside those parameters, even
slightly, the newsletter starts getting bouced back.

This month we are trying a new approach.  Each section of the newsletter
will contain only the basic information with a link to a website where
you can read the full article or market information.  It is a system which
works well for many of the larger writers ezines and will allow us to provide
    you with much more information.

We want to know your opinions of this method though; does it work
for you or not.  To make it easy you can simply reply Yes or No but
clicking on the appropriete link below.  If you have any further comments
to make we would like to read them, just type them into your message.

Yes, I like this new system  voyagemag@zyworld.com?subject=WOWYES

No, I don't like this new system
    voyagemag@zyworld.com?subject=WOWNO

We are updating our web site over the next week.  There will be more
resources, contacts, features, stories and poems - well worth a look.
You can check it out at http://welcome.to/Regentbooks

Don't forget to send us your letters, questions or responses.

I hope you enjoy this issue.

    2- Features -
Writing Letters and Fillers for Women's magazines
Samuel Johnson said. "Nobody but a blockhead ever wrote for anything
other than money."  And while many would protest that they write solely
for the love of it, they cannot deny that the desire to make a living out of
    writing is a primary consideration.
As with all businesses, the more you can make from your writing the better.
So why is it many writers either forget about letters or fillers or look down
on them as 'not real writing'.   A star letter or filler will often receive £50 or
even £100 in women's magazines and is rarely more than 50 or 60 words
long.  That equates to between £1000 and £2000 per thousand words,
whereas a full length article in the same magazine may pay only £75 - £300
    per thousand words.
All the information you need to start selling your letters and fillers right now
plus ten markets from around the world.

    Its Fun To Be Bad
Any actor will tell you it's much more fun to play a baddie and for the
author they are often the most interesting characters to develop.  While
the hero or heroine are constrained by the niceties of descent behavior
the baddie does not have to play by the rules which in turn allows the
author to explore new areas of expression.
Read on to discover some interesting ways to make your baddies the
    best...

    10 Ways to Avoid Rejection
Every editor has their own pet hates and if you knew what they were for
each editor you would greatly increase your chances of acceptance. We
have done the work for you; our recent survey of 500 editors asked them
for their most usual reasons for rejecting submissions and here we report
on the 10 that came out way ahead of the rest.
