Our Aims

are always to bring you the best mix of stories and poems available in print or on line, but we are equally committed to providing a platform for new and developing writers from all over the world.
Our payment rates may not be the greatest but this is balanced by the fact that hundreds of copies each issue are sent to reviewers, agent and film producers in the hope that your writing may be 'discovered' and this will lead to the one big break that you deserve.

Contributors guidelines  _ Voyage Short story & Poetry mag

The new multi-genre magazine of imaginative fiction and poetry.

General requirements:
Do not just email your submission.  Send a brief covering letter (one or two lines) and a bio we can use with your story/poem if it is accepted.

We always try to provide a brief guide to why, and improvements you could make, if we reject your work.  Please do not take this as an invitation to resubmit the piece unless we specifically say we want to see it again.

Short Stories in any genre or style providing it has a fresh original approach and is a real page turner. Your story should take the reader on a voyage of discovery and explore the highs and/or lows of the human psychi. Try not to send in rewrite of famous or biblical stories or famous films.  Experimental writing is fine providing it is understandable. 
Do not over narrate let the characters tell the story through their words, deeds and interactions with each other.

Genres we are currently in need of in order of urgency:
Science Fiction(all forms, cross genre boundaries if you wish.  Get the science right).
Horror, Historical, Crime.

Length: up to 6000 words.
 

Features likewise should take the reader on a voyage of discovery, whether this is a geographical voyage to exotic places or an intellectual/spiritual voyage which teaches the reader something new. Places are good providing they are home to something totally unique, events or anniversaries might be interesting and interviews with people who have done something extraordinary. But definitely no holiday Stories or destinations, no life of family histories. Length: up to 5000 words. If you have associated photos or illustrations send photocopies in the first instance.
 

Poems on any theme upto 60 lines. Originality and simplicity is the key, we don’t want to frighten newcomers to poetry away.
 

How to Submit: preferably by e-mail or on disc (Word/Wordpad/Lotus Word Pro or text file). Or paper mss. We never turn away submissions but e-mail or disc saves us time and prevents errors in retyping.
 

Payment: Currently  £10 (US$16)per 1000 words. Payments rates are sometimes increased by offering Free subscriptions to magazines, free books and various other benefits.
